I was in the process of replacing the wheel cylinder and noticed a spring had rusted and broken in two parts. I can't seem to find it in autozone, mac's auto or dennis carpenter's catalogs. Anyone know where I could find one? I have a 53 Victoria, with stock brakes.

Damn those kits start at $20 and everything else looks to be in good shape! Oh well off to the parts store. Thanks!

if you have it apart i would just replace them all anyway,if that one broke the others will follow soon after.

I did at both AZ and Kragens. The help springs are round, this one has a rectangular shape, don't know if it matters though. I'm also looking to see if other years used this.

    Hank,
I have some used ones that appear in okay shape. PM me with your address and I'll mail them off to you. Somewhere in the garage I have some brand new extras too...If I can find them...I'll keep looking in the meantime...

Damn 2$ i wish I would have checked my email sooner! I just had surgery on my lower back and wasn't able to check your PM. I ordered it from C&G, unfortunately I can install it now cause my drain fills up with blood if I stand up too long! Thanks everyone for you quick responses!

Why not toss a spring kit into the car while you got it apart? If that one broke, the rest of the hardware is probably not far behind.

Don't be a cheapass when it comes to brakes. You should replace all the springs a couple times in the life of any car/truck. These things live in a bad atmosphere and are subjected to every thing there is that is bad for spring steel.
Save a life even it it is only your own miserable existence.

I got the kits. Now everything will be pretty much new on the brakes. New 68 mustang m/s, all wheel cylinders are new, new hard lines and hoses, and drums turned. I haven't even driven the car since I bought it in 06! Next focus is on the engine. And I think I just won the wrong carb on ebay :-(
