I need to polish some eyebrow trim from a 60's chevy but it has some kind of clear coat on it, not much luck with acatone on a green scrub pad?

I believe it is clear anodize and Eastwood sells a product to remove it.

  5. If it's anodized- that means its probably made of something that will corrode or dull fairly quickly, not long after it's stripped.

It is clear anodized, and can be removed with Easy Off oven cleaner.

  7. You can polish the anodizing off with compounds and buffs using a bench grinder. With cloth buffs of course, not a grinding wheel.
I found this out by trying to polish anodized trim.
It comes off, and is nice and shiny underneath.
It does not have the smooth look of a chromed part. Its all wavy looking when the light hits it.
To me it pretty much ruins the part.

Beware the oven cleaner turns aluminum parts black. Simple paint remover takes off clear anodize.
