merc photoshop

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 46fatford, Jan 16, 2009.

  1. I'm currently working on my more door to 2 dr chop top 49 merc and was wondering if somebody could do some photo shop for me. I really love the lines on Jeff Neppls merc and plan on using the same for my chop and stance. Could someone possibly photoshop Jeff's car with a grill like Sam Barris Merc, 52 Packard side trim and stock window trim, belt line trim with 53 Caddy caps? Maybe in maroon, blue, green or purple? Think Wally Welch, Louie Bettancourt, Sam barris for colors. Would also like to see it with 54 Desoto grill, Dodge lancers, 52 Merc fender lips maybe. Packard trim is definite. Would like to use in same place as Sam Barris Buick trim. With and w/ out bumper guards and maybe w/ 52 Kaiser guard w/out bullets in front, but w/ bullets in rear w/ exhaust through bullets. Taillights will be stock, lowered and frenched. I really need some more inspiration for more my build. All this bodywork/ grinding, sanding is getting pretty monotonous. I would love to see car on paper as I se in my head. Might help the wife be more understanding on the expense too.
    Thanks
    Matt

Jeeze Matt, an amalgam of every killer Merc trick utilized prior to '55 when it all started to go so wrong........

'should be tasty when finished. I vote for "Midnight Oxblood" lacquer for the finish. Don't even look at any of that "streetrodder urethane" finish if you're going to go to all that trouble to get it so close to perfect!

  4. Thanks Bob and Rex. I think a friend has the program to do it, so iImight just try to do it myself. What does Rikster charge for this service usually?

  5. Rik was charging I think $35 an hour, and it was well worth it I'm sure you saw the progress pics. Plus he has source pics to take parts from, and has a great feel for the proportions. I was gonna have a non-old car friend do it but once I started talking to him about the parts, he was like where can I find a pic of those old hubcaps etc.
