Perhaps a misprint, but more likely a scam to collect emails and personal info. Just like the ones that were or still are on ebay that had things like 32 roadsters for $5000. The catch is you had to send them personal info to be allowed to bid.
probably a scam if you ask me, I found a 67 W code 427 Fairlane for $7808 on CL the other day and when I called it was some business scam. There is way too much of that stuff on CL lately especially with the newer cars and trucks.
i hope its not a scam and this thread ends up like the hudson guy *****ing about someone from the hamb buyinga car out from under him. did you think of, umm i dont know , emailing him?
I sent a cashiers check for $10,000.00 over the price of the car and asked him to send back the overage when the transport arrives tomorrow
i am love your car very much. please to send $15,000 by the western union. i refunde you the difference, ok. thank you plese.
Notice the "no phone" only can contact them through email... that's how they fill up there spam email list!!!
"hello, my name is Gawanda. My father is the heir to the thone on Babgwa. In order to buy his freedom from the revolutionaries, he is forced to liquidate his car collection. Please help."
wow,,,you are lucky you were the first! what a great deal......post some pics when you get it!! hahahah,,,did you notice the way the ***hole spelled beautiful? (beautyful).....
hell i say send him a email from your "junk" email account. you know the one you use for everything on the internet that you know is gonna make you get spam, like downloading/file sharing sites.
see www.419eater.com if you haven't already...these guys are proffesional "scambaiters" and have pages and pages of emails baiting nigerian scammers that do this kind of ****...these guys keep up multiple scambaitings up over YEARS, sometimes with the same nigerians using different names...it's a scream... ...check out there page covering tips for scambaiting...I was asked to receive a check for $1500 more than I was asking (for a motor I had listed on craigslist) and then wire the extra $$$ back...a dead giveaway...and boy did I have fun with these ***holes!! My last email pissed them off pretty bad, so I don't think I'll be hearing from "steven hughes" again... ...these proffessional scambaiters...would they be "master baiters"...?
I was on CL today and guess what, the same T Bird is for sale here and it is even cheaper!! You have to admit it is a nice looking car though...........
Craigslist removed the post: This posting has been flagged for removal (The ***le on the listings page will be removed in just a few minutes.)
Just email them back with the invitation to click on this link www.thefingerisout.com. BTW, When in doubt I always highlight the posting header and google it, I saw the T-bird ad posted here a couple days ago, did the google thing and saw it posted in several cities. These guys just want a good email address to add to a junk mail list, or some other scam. Funny thing is, I ran in to a guy I know this morning who actually said "Man did you see that T-bird on C-list, I emailed as soon as I saw it.........nobody has gotten back to me"?..............Don't worry, they will.
I have viewed your item on the List of Craig's. Please send me manys of your informations. I will buy your item right away and have you arrange with my shipper for deliveries of that items. I had advertised some hipo stuff I had on the shelf - only of interest to hotrodders - I get a reply from some dimbulb that he wants to buy my furniture. I responded positively to him, invited him to stop by the hangar and view my "furniture". I had a statement in the ad - CASH only...local pickup only. He was so ready to send me a check and so ready to have his shipper stop by and pick it up. Amazingly, when I reminded him that it was a face-to-face cash deal, he didn't want my "furniture" any more. Putting stuff on CL is just a kick in the pants - you get to converse with many interesting people - and the more of them you converse with, the more confident you become in your own mental superiority. dj
