There are a couple threads going on here about GNRS and other goings on.
Here's the link to the one about the HAMB meet and greet http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=325388

Also: Friday night Bob's Big Boy in Burbank cruise
Saturday Morning (EARLY) is the Donut Derelicts at Adams AVE Donuts in Huntington Beach, and the "Anti donut breakfast" is nearby that (not sure exactly where but PM Bad Bob about that
Various open houses, So-Cal, Old Crow Speed Shop,.etc
The Peterson Museum and the Wally Parks museum

There's more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

  6. There is a Sheraton right at the Fairplex, but might be booked. Nice facility and a walk out the back door to the show.
Some good eats nearby, but my favorite for breakfast burritos is South on White Ave, which runs on the East side of the Fairplex, just under 10 fwy. Bravo burger has an awsome chirizo and bacon burrito as well as burgers and stuff.
For more up scale eats, go East on the 10 and get off on Monte Vista and go North. There is a large mall there with Stuart Andersons, Red Lobster, Elephant Bar, Tony Roma's, Olive Garden, and a couple others all in the SW corner of the mall. There are a couple on the hill above the Fairplex on the fwy side, one Cuban and the other is Pomona Valley Mining Co.
You can go West on the 10 over the hill to West Covina. There are several on the Northside you will pass. You can get off on Barranca to get to those.
There's a great Brazilian buffet off at Azusa at the 10 north called Green Fields. If you eat meat, you'll love it.
For museums, you've got Planes of Fame at the Chino Airport, about 15 min away, Peterson which is way down town, and the Justice Brothers have a nice little one in Duarte, about 15 min away. I'm assuming that you know about the NHRA Museum which is right next to the roadster show (www.museum.nhra.com). There's a great tribute for the 75th anniversary of the 34 Ford.
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message.

  7. I'll be there Saturday at the drive in show with my RPU.

I'm affraid, if you wanted to stay close to the fairgrounds, you should have had reservations weeks ago. A large contingent of HAMB people staying a few miles away in San Dimas at the Comfort Suites.

  8. Sometimes, if a hotel is booked solid, you can go into Orbitz or Travelocity or whatever of that ilk, and get a rooms that they hold back for those services. I've scored that way a couple of times.

If you're looking for 'Pamona' there's a sliver of a chance you may not find it, as it does not exist. Others are heading to Pomona which is where the show is held.

If you make it, don't forget the HAMB meet and greet.
