I hope I can get a little help here. I bought a electric fan from a hot rod parts vendor at the Moultrie swap a year back. Guy told me it was the best one and he sold a lot. It was smaller then I thought was needed, but he still felt with a good shroud it was the best for the money. I think I paid about 60 bucks. The only markings on the box are " TBI 14 " it is 14 inch and 10 blade. Very slim blades. The plug has 4 prongs, two will power the fan, and if I reverse them they change the direction. Does anyone know how to tell what is the intended way this fan should work, push or pull? If I remember (yea right) he said there was not much differance. I have a 400 sbc punched .040, so I want to get the most cooling I can. I have room to build a shroud on either side of the rad, but would really like to set it up as a puller on the backside. On my set up it will be a lot less visible. Mechanicle fan is not an option on my set up. There are no markings on the fan itself, but it was a sealed box. Hope you guys can give a little help here. Thanks, pkj

  2. It will work best as a puller fan, installed between the engine and the radiator.---Brian

Most fans can be converted to pusher. My bet is it is already a puller. Plug the fan up watch your fingers and see which way it works best. You will feel a difference in pushing than pulling in the air flow. If you see it is a pusher try taking the blade off and turning it over. $0.02

good advice guys.most pushers are restrictive with the air having to cross over the blade . i am sold on the puller function fans.
not trying to turn this into a puller-pusher war..just my preference.
