Hmnnn, I had no idea these were being repopped. I have a couple origionals stashed for a future project - one nos mag - all are drilled for port nozzles. I will have to pay closer attention to these - expecially since there's "imposters" out there. Learn something everyday!!!

Nothing wrong with using a stock case - so long as it's in decent condition. I agree - though - it does warrant being gone thru by someone in the know.

  3. Several thoughts: the real early manifolds weren't drilled for port nozzles. the different brands are different heights and require different length belts. A stock case is fine as long as it has an aftermarket real bearing plate. The rotor to rotor clearances are set by the gear mesh on the front. You will be money ahead to send this to an expert and have it clearanced. If the clearances are wrong, you will have a door stop. This isn't a good place for a learning exp.

X2. Get it gone through, timed up and use all new (good parts) seals and good lube. And just don't overdrive the **** out of it! Should be fine for many many miles of smiles.

I sold one last year that had not been drilled, but had the "pads" that get drilled through.

Is it possible the blower was in a boat? Blown motor running a V drive might explain the reverse case.

I don't think he meant NO overdrive, just don't try to make 30 lbs with it.

These guys offer the Cragar repop as well, but at $469. Not sure if it is the same or not.

You don't need a new blower.. just get this one set-up properly. I have a $20.00 Jimmy blower on my Hemi...I had a guy in WA convert mine for under $300.00 including parts. ASk here... there are plenty on guys who can seet you to a good blower shop. Gary Dyers in Chicago is one of 'em.

Sorry but they don't make them with the idler swing arm on the cover anymore. Start watching ebay and the swapmeets.

i had to bring this one back up. do you guys think it was a mistake ***embling the blower backwards or was it done intentionally? i mean to ask, is there a reason to ***emble it backwards, lets say if it was intended to be crank driven?

DARN, You guys are GOOD!!!!! I've been messin with the alum. lungs for about 30 years. Yes, there are reasons for ***embling the thing backwards sometimes, but I wouldn't suggest the ordinary layperson do it. And you can ***emble on backwards by mistake, if you don't mark the ends when your in a hurry, like trying to race.

I also had an Ed Pink 354 with a cragar manifold with pop off's under and no port nozzles. It had an Isky driven 6-71 and a Scott slot injector with ONE nozzle and a Scott crank driven pump. Oh yeah, and Don's boxed rods!! :D Grant blower pistons, Delta machine crank and an Isky 7000 T flat tappet cam. This engine went 202 mph in a FED on 90%. and high gear only. :D
