Yeah baby! The pea green Family Truckster! We had a '76 Montego MX Villager... 400 2v talk about a dog...
What a knockout ride. Great color combinations, white/woody trim, and the blue interior is sweet. The rack is also a nicely tailored piece, very cool. I have never seen a deluxe 59 wagon, even a photo, what a super rare wagon. Thanks for sharing this with us. And, by the way--the last time I said -nice rack-it wasn't a station wagon!! Hey Bob, cool you found this thread. Was about to e-mail it to you. I think there was a similiar one several months ago. Can't recall, but did I read somewhere that the original build quality on these was sketchy? Maybe it was just the Mercury's?? None the less, terrific example of 50's era class. My girlfriend loves your car!! Maybe it was all the wine?(Lakeridge winery car show) Glad to see you singed up on the board. Hope you and the gang can bring the wagon to the Rumblers show. See you then? JT
squires rock! even the baby ones! heres mine back in the early nineties...I just pulled it out of the barn and washed it, and it really doesnt look any worse, will get it back on the road this year, and do the woodgrain panels properly.
Not to raise the dead but the 59 Squire as well as the current owners 59 Colony Park..He loves 59's and now owns the pair! Just posting so squire lovers can see both these cool wagons..
The Colony Park has been full restored while the Country Squire is an original unrestored with the exception of the drivetrain. That picture was taken at The Concours d' Elegance of America. They had a theme of station wagons of the jet age..
Here is the 3 1/2 year frame off restoration thread on the 1959 Colony Park: 1959 Colony Park Restoration
Well, since this thread has risen from the dead,,I thought I would say just how nice the two Country Squires are! HRP
