Kind of reminds me of a place I visited in Nebraska but that guy kept his many cl***ics clean and in running condition, of course that was 10 years ago.

I love places like this. If some of these cars were not horded this way, they undoubtedly would have been crushed or wrecked by now. I like it that these will be affordable to the common man some day - unlike museum pieces.

  4. Just curious, did this shop USED to have some Bentleys in there about 30 years ago. If so, I've been there. No idea how to get back though.

Maps for sale $2500.00, bs. If we all pool our money and offer what they're really worth ( say $300,000. He might sell ) send me your money i'll do what i can. Thanks

  7. Richard, you talk like you need (and have the room for) another project.

  8. If they all run, I'd drive a different car every day.

I'd be hard for me not to, at the very least, clean them up. Wax on, wax off.

It always makes me laugh when guys get all upset that someone has a bunch of cars stashed away and won't sell. How many guys on this board realistically have more vehicles than they will ever get to in their lifetime but hold onto them because they will get to it eventually or I may have a use for it some day. This is exactly the same thing just on a larger scale. The obviously loves cars and like to collect them just like most of us. We would all love to have a building full of all thise cars that we would like to "fix up one day".

Say what you want about the old guy. Maybe this is his way of putting something back for his kids when he dies. For all we know, he has three kids that all know what these are worth and have instructions to sell or keep whatever they want when the old man p***es. It's safer than investing in the stock market. Either way, some day, some of these will be for sale. In the mean time, let the old ****** have his toys. If I had a bunch of cool old cars stashed away for my kids and someone got pissed because I didn't want to sell any of them, I'd tell them which side of my *** I'd prefer them to kiss. This is like a hot wheels collection in 1:1 scale. I'm not mad at the guy. I'm jealous.

    Yeah, what he said.......

  14. I had a hard time figuring out where that was at until I noticed the yellow 5-window in the corner of the first shot. I drive by that building almost every day. Good luck getting anything out of it!!!!

Well at least I bet they're still in America and not on a boat to China for recycling and return to the US as billet/fluff, or to WallyMart. And no Wall Street Weenies are gonna fritter them away like they did mine and a lot of others' retirement $$$ as long as they're sitting in storage. If the owner gets to needing $$$ he'll likely start selling 'em and it probably won't be to the local s****yard either. At least there's greater potential for them to hit the market when the current owner p***es or decides to liquidate; unlike so many cars that are mothballed in museums or are in private collections that may not see the light of day for years either.

Yeah I know exactly where these cars are, the guy is lets say eccentric, he fairly friendly though. None for sale, he's thought about it but says no again. Very cool collection though...

I have been in the building.
It is more or less across the street from the Federal building they blew up a few years back.
There are other threads on the HAMB about this place

not at all. they could suffer a much worse fate. they are being (semi) preserved for future generations. some day they will hit the market again, i'm sure of it.

Actually he was a nice guy when I went there.
(It may have helped that I was driving my 39 Ford that day.)
He told me that each car was driven in.
After they blew up the Federal building, it looked like the blast blew in his windows and I guessed the windows had probably damaged his cars but from todays pictures, the cars look ok.
They had pigeon **** on them when I was there in 1992.

Ski mask? Check... Black gloves? Check... Flashlight? Check... Car Hauler? Check... All I need now is an address.

I reckon his children will get rid of the cars when he dies. How old did you say he was? I'm not saying we should murder him, but you know, maybe we should help him along to a better place.

Please note, the above statements are jokes. Should the cars become stolen or the guy mysteriously dies, I had nothing to do with it.

    :D:D:D

Whether they're for sale or not, it's still a pretty cool find in my eyes!

I wonder what did in at***udeadjustments pics of the place? Was it the license plate numbers? Or what it the mention of the federally secure building? I think its great! at***udeadjustment is sitting there sweating balls right now! waiting for some other hamber who just figured out where this was with more money and more negotiating capabilities to go take all... Hilarious! No?:rolleyes::)

  27. I think everybody in town knows where that building is (you can see the cars from a major road leading into downtown). I also think everybody in town has tried to buy those cars (most of my friends and club members included). Those jewels aren't going ANYWHERE!!!! I wish I'd knew he had 2 Mercs and 2 Rivs though.
