Times 2 for the list. It is really satisfying to cross things off the list. Makes you feel like you are making good progress during the more tedious tasks.

I always go get some model car / airplane fuel and pour some in a shot gl*** and set if on fire.

Nothing get you going like a little nitro fumes.

    Brian-
    These words are key
"Make a "to-do" list. Break it down into small items."

I didn't, and I got burned out. Right about the time we met at last Roundup and the Galveston Reliability Run I was done with it. Would you believe thats really the last time I truely cruised my '58?
I even took a break long enough from the HAMB that I got an email asking if everything was OK, I hadnt posted in a long time.....

Take it easy. Find something different. Or just backburner everything.
DONT SELL ANYTHING THOUGH. You'll want it in 2 months or 2 years.

I went racing. I needed something to test myself, and prove why I do what I do. You need to find what it is that makes it tick for you.

I usually make to do lists, clean up the garage, hunt for rare parts, sell stuff I don't need, work on my other hobbies - collecting car related stuff, building vintage bicycles, etc. Making a list is key, little steps are important, and do something different to break up the routine.

On the upside of a project, I frequently trot out Rule #1 in a tight spot : "If it went together, it'll come apart".
On the downside, I suppose the converse is appropriate : "You took it apart, so stop draggin yer *** put it the hell back together already!!"

I here here what your saying. It is not my intention to get out of the game. It just seems like the last few weeks every time i walk in the shop no matter what i did the day before i did not get any closer than where i was the day before and it does not manage to help that i run my company office out of the same building that the shop is in. I did manage to buy a 23ft center console fishing boat last week,so if any of you guys that live here in the houston area are a little burned out like i am grab a pole and if not i got plenty extras. There's not walking away now i am n2deep....Hell it would take two months to seel all mt wall hanging ****....talking about total burnout!!!!!!!**** it let's go fishing!!!!

I got burnt once and Groucho RODE MY *** so much I got my '55 back together just to shut him up. Made MOOEYES and now you can't get me out of the garage. Moral of the story is just go talk to friends, ask if they can come over and help. Or go uncork your daily driver and do a few burn outs, that'll get your blood flowing.

Right now I am building a "non" Hamb project 1973 Stier Stallion Trike.
My shop is 20 miles from the house so the guy next door to me says "use my shop".

I motivated his *** to get the 1100 HP motor back in his Mustang, and he keeps me motivated to finish my project. Tonight I went over and worked on his ****, tomorrow I will get mine in for inspection and green sheet. For me it is about having something else to do while you are wrenching on your stuff that makes it work. If I get burned out on my stuff playing with his $30K motor will take my mind off of things. Hell I need to get his stang off the lift so I can put my 60 wagon in there for the motor replacement.

Foe me it is having buddies around that are motivated, as well as having something else to wrench on.

Burnt out? Drink BEER! lots of BEER. When your good and hammered, Reflect on how much time you just wasted when you coulda been doing something worthwhile on your ride.:D Works for me. Then, the next night I'm ready to rip on it again. Burnout is just part of the deal. Join the crowd.

have some beers, work on a buddies project instead for awhile, go on the hamb and look at everyone elses builds, carshows, drive or ride in someone elses car. these always get me back to being motivated and excited to work on my stuff.

I get burned out from getting up at 8am & going to bed at 3am all week long, so Sunday i "TRY" to sleep in till 10am and i'm not getting anything done to the rod, but then my bad health(1/3 of my heart is dead) won't let me do much without getting tired out in 10-15mins.
I'd really like to get this thing on the road, but guess i'll have to sell it & get a turnkey vehicle.

I always have more then I can do.Sometimes it's overwelming and I get nothing done.
The two things that work for me.. go help a buddy work on his project.

Or clean the shop.I push everything outside, and organize..
next thing I know,oh these headlights would like good on a modified stand...
and I go off in a totally different direction...

And the next day the shop is all clean and I'm re-energized.

Super****ers on 8 and a pot of coffeee helps too..

Like has been stated many times, I dig out the ol Mad Fabricators Videos, tales of the rat fink, and hotrods, ratrods, and kustom kulture back from the dead.

I spend a few good hours, then im in the shop at like 3 am working because i got motivated.

I got motivated to tear my body off, and straighten my frame. 5 hours later, it was done.

2 days later, i took it down the driveway.

Now im about 2 weeks from having it done
