Came across this today in a little convenience store in Little River, KS. It's the local mechanics adverti*****t. Sure don't see this everyday. Too Cool!

Speaking of ads...does anyone here remember the Yellow Pages flathead?? If you looked up engine rebuilders anywhere in the country years ago, the illustration in their yellow page ad would always be the same little flathead picture, presumably from some clip service. It is long gone, but was common up into the seventies.

They use that to power the slurpee machine, don't they?

There was a pawnshop here in Pasadena that had a built and dressed 409 2 4bbl Chevy engine in the front window for years.

How about Danica behind a flathead? Now that's the stuff dreams are made of! Pretty cool way to advertise.

Automotive canned goods have lots of uses...
I had occasion recently to point out a can of BraKleener that was sitting in my laundry room to a young lady; she was impressed with the completeness of my laundry supplies for feminine undergarments...
Still works on those brakes, too!
