In the late 60's early 70's, you could get bubble gum cards that were actually stickers with drawings that are similar to Roths style. Was Ed Roth the the artist? Thanks, Robert
Man, your mind does strange things ... When I looked at this thread, I could actually smell that heavy bubble gum smell. I remember these cards but did not keep them. I did keep about 100 drag racing bubblegum cards from the early 70s. I hope they at my parents house. Pictures of the cars on the front. Stats on the back. I remember sorting them by speed.
I had these too! Don't know whatever happened to them. But I don't see these as being Roth.Roth inspired I'm sure.
About a year ago a neighbor up the street from me p***ed on. He obviously owned a baseball card shop, his wife was having a garage sale gettin rid of some old inventory. While at the sale my wife phones me describing some old trading cards to me. So I head up there and find she is talking about some old hot rod magazine trading cards. So of course I bought the cards(Big John Mazmanian, Tommy Ivo,and some others I cant remember). They are probabally not worth much but they are real cool.
I had me a plan... take my near-complete set of Odd Rods and airbrush them up, canvas-size. Got one down in '06... now just need to get the others going!
I got mine ,don russ made them called odd rods ,odder odd rods , there are several years from late 67 - 72 some later years also but not as cool .also a set of choppers . all sets had 66 cards .c
