Tribute video for Joe of "Rollin' Stoned" fame see. www.joejacono.com. Lots of family photos and Joe's old hot rods and drag cars along with an interview. Happy Birthday Joe.
Boy...that video is about as good as it gets. Great insight to one of the East Coast pioneer racers and speed shop owners.
Met Joe at the Holiday Inn bar in Bowling Green several years ago. That was pretty cool after watching him run back in the 70s. The man can tell a story. Cheers and Happy Birthday from the Hog Mountain Garage crew.
Happy 75th Joe your the man living large and havin fun. Anyone that can drive a funny car at 74 years young is the man and im glad to know you hope to see you at the races this year but i still wouldent leave you alone near my wife you dirty old man ROCKY (the vega will be out this summer ) in nj
Joe is awsome! Every time I attend an event he's at, I end up spending hours in the pits with his crew and leave with my sides hurting from laughter! He is the man!! Spike
I've heard stories about Joe for years, but have never talked to him. Next summer at York I'll make a point of hearing some stories first hand.
I happened to come across the video through Joe. Well done. Really well done. Joe said he may be up for the York show this year. He's always fun to be around. A great story teller.
Here he is in Vol 1 # 1 of National Dragster in his Lyndwood rail February 12, 1960. Story I was told he swapped 200 Army surplus Harley Davidson side car wheels to Pat Bilbow for the rolling ch***is. Car won him a trip to Daytona for the Winternationals.
....that aint the half of it, when joe tells the story of the wheels and the lyndwood ch***is "swap" better get a cold one and pull up a chair. like any good deago....that 10 min story will become 1.5 hrs! LOL neat guy, to bad he had to give up the driving, Happy B-day JJ! Paul
I was just reading a Hot rod article at work ..."my cars always looked good, even when they were burning" Happy Birthday Joe!
