Where do these bubbles come from? I mean some of them, like the Dragula are apparently from an aircraft canopy, but where oh where do you find these half spheres? What are they used for?
Hey guys. Can't imagine losing my son. Saying anything other than, "I'm sorry for your loss" just doesn't seem to cut it. I did some very quick digging. If you go to www.google.com and type in the following line: bubbletop site:www.jalopyjournal.com you will get all the posts with the word bubbletop in them. Change it to two words like: bubble top site:www.jalopyjournal.com to get a slightly different list. I also found this on the web: "For a complete thesis on how to build a bubbletop, see the Jul. '01 issue of Custom Rodder magazine" Goto: http://www.recumbents.com/wisil/bubbles/hpvbubbles.htm to get an interesting explantion of how to do it. Another bit of info: http://www.portplastics.com/architect/page22.html Ratster.. if you do this...make sure you share the progress.
I have always dreamed about turning a Volvo P1800 into a radical bubbletop custom, bigger fins Maybe make the grill area stick out more, etc. Would make a fun car. It's already a fun little car to start with. I drove my friend's mostly stock one around and the chicks were really diggin it.
Can't for get this one. It was also the first car to have hydraulics. X-sonic. I love this picture. Wayoutsville.
RICH...never spoke to ya other then pm, hamb and myspace...but you keep the faith my Friend. you have more family then you know! GOD BLESS Todd and to be on topic....bubbles are cool!
thanks Todd and the rest of the HAMB, its going be a long road to getting back into it. I need to get back out in the shop. I have radical56chevy Gasser in there now that i need to get done before the end of March, I'll have to do the bodywork and paint now, Josh was supposed to do it. Then I'll start on Josh's 30 A-coupe, he chopped it 5in when he was 17. I have most of the parts to put it together 312 y-blk 3x2s, fenton wheels. not a bubble top but it will be his tribute car built in his memory for his kids.
Did you guys see those crazy valve covers on the X-sonic? Maaaannn, that goes the Rockets one better!!!!!!!! Or is it really a twin cam 301.
