I am receiving a 1940 chevy deluxe 4dr soon, and the guy says that there are no numbers on it, well I have a hard time believing that unless they were removed. but he says they just never found any. I know that on my friends 39 chevy they are on the firewall, but that is not the case with this car, can you help?
Will check a friend of mine's tomorrow. They are on a tag screwed to the p***enger cowl under the hood line on my 38 Chevy. Earlier Chevys had them on a tag mounted on the p***enger floor near the sill plates.
should be screw holes on the rh cowl side where the vin tag was. no vin #,s on the frame. may have used the engine serial on the ***le in some states.
so registration will be fun, I am already going to have to go through a registration service for the REO so I will ask them about this one too.
My vin was not on one of my 40 chevys .The other 40 chevy was made in Canada and had a full body tag with vin and body style and number. It was made out of br*** . Chevys of the 40 has a nice body tag that will work, also a 3/4 " by 3 " plate stamped and painted for A pillar would look good.
The tag raceratrod shows has the vin. It is on the p***. side floorpan. Have fun reading it. At least that's where all three of my cars have it. Jeff
well I just talked to the guy and he said that was one of the first places they looked, but from what I hear this car is quite rough, but all there and very cheap.
