Got in a few hours ago! Man that engine looks good in my shop!! Going into Cindy's 50 Ford 2dr. Shifts is building me a C-4 to go with the engine. HUGE thanks to Racefab and Shifts, this is an awsome thing they have done to support the HAMB. Thanks to 30Roadster for hauling the engine back for me. Thanks to Ryan and Marcie for such a good time, you guys put a lot of hard work into this, it went very well, pleasure to meet you both and everyone else I met this weekend. We got a great family here!! Thanks to the food crew for a great meal & Denise for all the cookies. Thanks to JIMC & Judy for having everyone over Friday night, food was great, so was the company. Just an example of what a great bunch of folks we have Jim told me Saturday that he went out & walked his neighborhood Sat morning to make sure there was no trash left behind, etc, said he only found 1 plastic water bottle, that was it, said that was normal neighborhood litter, besides, we all know HAMBers don't drink water!! Enough of my rambling, bet I still don't sleep tonight, I just don't win stuff! Still waiting for Ryan to call and tell me it was a mistake & I gotta bring it back! Wish we could all do this every weekend. Everyone come to the Kontinentals Day of the Drags Oct 1-3, going to be a blast. Come to the Roundup next spring & you can hear the HAMB raffle engine run! Later! Eddie Bell, one happy HAMBer!!
Congrats Eddie! I was real happy for ya man......actually happy for Cindy. Can't wait to see her cruising her '50.
Congrats, Eddie! A nicer guy could not have won. Thank you and your wife for sharing a part of your weekend with us. Jim and Judy
That's awesome Eddie...!!!! I'm suprised that it made it to your shop..., and not in 30roadsters garage...! I'm glad you won..., Give us the update on your wifes car !!!! Mark
It's really cool that someone who needed it won it........ Congrats on winning. And thanks to RaceFab and Shifts for all they have done. It goes without saying ....THANKS to Ryan and his people for the drags. If I can get my Dad doing a little better....healthwise.....The wife and I would like to be there and run in 05.
Congrats! A shoebox Ford sounds like a great home for that engine. (BTW, the valve covers should polish up nicely...)
Eddie...there has been a dreadful mistake. I actually won the ford motor and trans and Cindy said I could have the 50 tudor to put it in.... PSYCHE! Was really good to meet both of you and congrats on your win! I really thought a die-hard chevy guy would win it and sell it...this works out much better, you lucky dog! Now, go buy a power ball ticket.
Chevy last year, Ford this year, I'm holding out for next year's blown 392 Hemi for my unborn 1965 FED project! Now I've gotta find a SBF for the Raunchero. Oh Well! Congrats Dude. Put it to use
Thanks everybody! Sam, I told Racefab only thing could have been better was you breaking it in like last years engine!!
Congrats! I had my phone in my had all day Sat hoping for a call, but its Good to hear its going to good use.
You all should have seen the grin on this guys face!!! We stood by his pickup at the hotel and talked a bit. And, as pretty as I am , I caught his eyes wandering back to that motor every few seconds. Congrats man and thanks to all who made it happen. Is it too late to buy a ticket? RASHY
30Roadster, who hauled the engine back for me, and is a good friend, who also wanted this engine, kept muttering "You lucky *******!" all night. Somewhere under the hood, maybe on the air cleaner, is going to be lettered the phrase "Lucky *******" in honor of Kyle. My wifes boss faxed me a calander page today said " you might be a redneck if-- you go to a drag race and win an engine and get all teary-eyed." Kinda funny coming from a guy whose real name is Larry Don!
First off I gotta say it was wonderful to finally meet you and your lovely wife Cindy in person. You were a pleasure to chat with. The engine and trans could NOT have gone to a nicer person. Congrats bud, well deserved. From left to right, Shifts, Bellm, and Racefab and a shot of the engine
Eddie, this is the first I've heard of it. I just walked in the door from Bonneville. Good on ya. Wayno
You know, you told me you were going to win that motor on Friday night. I guess I should have listened and saved my money for a raffle instead. Congratulations TZ
Thanks for the pics Denise. Tyler I talked a lot of trash about how that engine would go good in the shoebox, never dreaming it would happen. Wayno you missed a good time. Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
How come you left out the best part eddie? All week before the drags he kept PM-ing me saying how fortuante it is that i'm driving a truck up to the drags so i can bring his engine home for him.... he was joking of course....but man WHAT A LUCKY *******!
Eddie, was nice to meet ya, congrats on the motor. I saw in another post you mentioned the HAMB went from an internet world to reality this weekend. It is guys like you that make the HAMB a real world pleasure (that sounded bad )
BellM, awesome to meet ya and that is just totally rad that you won. Sorry I didn't see ya again after the win, busy with Jason's car then taking my mag pics then chasing my son. Big ole congrats brother. Our buddy Scotth will be getin his boes tomorrow.
Three really cool guys. I walked by Racefab and never met him. Root was thrashing on the Fly looking kinda down, so i did not want to disturb them. A missed chance.
