I was watching unlimited hydroplanes on TV and got curious. Came across this cool picture. Supercharged Allison V-12 powered deathtrap.
old boats rock - know of one guy who's got a 260 ford in a glass over ply - runs straight zoomies and chainlink steeringwheel - i heard he was even going with a pirate flag - i think he built it to piss the yuppies off at pauanui over christmas (it's f***ing loud) but the flames from the zoomies look wicked - personally i like the old mahogany wooden boats - chris craft style - but originals are two expensive - i got champagne taste on a beer budget( well not really beer's not allowed 4 in my budget) but there are so good boatbuilding plans around for copies - prob what i'd go for when i have some more folding and have finished most of my other projects
My godfather is rebuilding a old racer from the original plans it has a rear cockpit ! and I realy mean rear its crazy, the amount of work that he has put into is insane he even cast all the alum. brackets in his garage, its got an allison in it as well, its called the Stanford? and I guess its top speed back in the 30's was 110 and its like 27 ft long and god knows what it weighs? I'll try to get some pics but he's a little weird about that I've been trying to get pics of his 60's Indy car that he has hanging on his garage wall, he's the guy that got me into cars,or maybe it was my grandpa?
