  2. Wow, these cars take me back to my youth in the 60's when I used to watch cars like this run at Dorsey Speedway !!

  5. Name non-withstanding, they are similar....so it is possible. However, there are some differences that I can see...The steering is exposed on Shirly's car and she has a 4 bar front end.....I don't think that mine ever had either. thanks!

Here is the first roadster we (B&R Speed Supply) built in 1964. It had a 427 c.i. 409, tube chassis, glass body. See we did have glass bodies back in the "day". We ran at Pittsburgh International Dragway (PID) and Keystone Raceway. The 409 didn't last too long.

here is my pile of parts. I started out in 93 with a harwood body, a pile of tubing, a limited budget, free run of a junk yard and ended up with this.
My first pass in it was at at Houston Raceway park in 1995. Ran a 10.70 @ 127 with a stock 396. Second engine was a mild 468 that ran 9.80s @ 135. Current engine is a stout but not killer 489 with a best of 9.60 @ 140.
Future plans call for replacing the single 4 and hood scoop with a tunnel ram with 2 4s, removing the rear spoiler and wheels that at least look mid to late 60s.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a good bracket car at one time. Hopefully after my youngest graduates high school in May I will get to run the car enough to find out if the new combination is consistant. First I will need to learn how to react to the tree consistantly again. That is hard to do when you only get to drive the car once every three months. I have some build pics somewhere, I will have to dig them up.
