The wife and I did a long hike here in Colorado on Monday 19-Jan-2009 and in the foothills of the Rockies came across the remains of an old flat bed roadster truck. Looks to be from the early 1900's. It has an aluminum body tub, steel fenders, aluminum engine block with a steel head. It may have started life as a car? I took some pictures..check out the the following link. Any idea what it is? http://community.webshots.com/user/lakeroadster/tags/heil-ranch-truck/photos
Fenders from early model t as is the 4 spoke steering wheel. As far as the body is concerned it may have been a "SPECIAL BODY', designed for a particular job i.e. milk truck etc.
I can't see the pictures. Can you post the pictures directly instead of the link? They don't show up for me.
Here's the photo's. By the way this thing is a Tank compared to a Model T. Frame is much stronger, fenders are much larger, it has a regular clutch type tranny and an Aluminum engine block. At first I though it was a REO by the raised insignia on the engine head.
I sure think it's a Stewart truck. I think i can make out the Stewart script on the top of the Vaccuum tank. Based on that and the shape of the hood, that's my best guess. Evan
