Any hambers bidding on this grille on Ebay ? I think you should know it,s a 1934 Renault grille I sent the seller a message stating this but he has,nt revised the description. It is a nice grille for sure but just not the same as Ford. Diference is a few inches. Hate to see someone dissapointed.
Good reminder to look closely at the pictures of stuff on e-bay, I've known guys who saw things and jumped at them, when they got the stuff they were screwed.
Recently there was a pair of 25 louver hood sides for a '32 on Ebay. They were obviously Rootliebs and the seller listed them as original. I sent him an email telling him he better disclose that they were not Ford parts. He responded that he would. He then just added Rootlieb in the description they sold for over $900. Somebody with no knowledge of what they were buying paid three times what it would cost from the manufacturer. I guess you can't hold the seller responsible. The FOGGER
The top looks very much like a Ford grille. In the excitement of finding a cheap item a buyer may only see what he thinks he see,s. Anyhow this seller sent a reply to me that he knew it was a Renault grille.
I saw that, and wondered what it was - thought maybe some old aftermarket/repro job. I don't know how close the size is, but it could look good on a hoodless '33-'34?
I also set this seller a message yesterday. He said he would change it but wondered if it was worth more money as a Renault. As of today it still is listed as a Ford item. Item # 130281877209 on eGay
i was looking at that grill also. i knew it wasnt ford (didnt know what it fit) BUT it looks neat. if it was cheaper i would of owned it. it would of looked good hanging on the wall. im sure others know its not ford if they own a 34 ford anyway.
what an ***hole. people like that make every seller look bad. somebody ought to bid $10,000.00 on it with thier throwaway ID and not pay.
The seller is a fool, but if you're going to be buying car parts you'd damn sure better know what you're doing. IF you don't you will learn all your lessons in the School of Hard Knocks.
The thing that sells lots of this stuff for more than it can be bought elsewhere on e-bay is the people who live in small towns or areas where the can't get the stuff or people who don't know how to use the computer to search, just how to get to e-bay.
e-gay is GOOOD that way sometimes! ive bought myself some real goodies that were listed wrong therefore they only had a couple of views & the **** went 'real cheap!'
I bought a early Hemi to 727 steel adapter on Ebay years ago... the picture was kinda fuzzy. Got it home and I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is... the seller said "tuff ****"... now I've got a spare, I guess.
When I first ran across it browsing ebay, I noticed at 2nd glance that it wasn't 34 Ford. It has a sort of Pines look to it with the heavy center bar. Would look okay on a hoodless, hiboy.
yes good! and i dont hear people emailing them and sayin hey relist & change the description you can get alot more mooolah!
two years ago I bought a late 331 off of ebay. It was listed as HEMMY and it was categorized in 'collectibles' - not ebay motors...just ebay collectibles. I was happy to 'collect' it for the $75 she wanted. Oh, and of course, I had to pick it up myself, but I ***ure you it was a small inconvenience to drive down to Bullhead City from here. Her husband (RIP) had pulled it out of a car at a local wrecking yard many years ago, she wasn't sure what he intended for it, but her daughter was moving home and she was getting rid of some of the 'collectibles' in the garage. I looked around for any other neat stuff, but it was mostly old furniture. Ya just never know what your going to find in weird places. I sometimes purposely misspell words while searching CL and Eb just to see what crops up. dj
Nice looking grille but it only resembles a ford....ebay can be great as I have had good lusk with it but you have to be careful ..........
Looks like the seller never corrected the description. It sold for $821!!! Another A-hole gets away with fraud.
