    Where to begin....
I have an offical title of "technical designer"
I work as a Technical Monkey
I am the access administrator for a pretty big company with about 10,000 user accounts to manage and as of a couple months ago... they cut my Overtime and doubled my workload (makes sense to me). I am now the person who everyone in the company complains to if they have a problem with of of the tools we maintain/create.
    basically - I am a technical monkey

But I do sit at a computer all day looking at pictures of cars :)

System Administrator for Project and Program Management systems for DOT.(car related I guess).. And yes I'm home right now! Took a break from welding rear fender bolt holes on my 38 Plymouth .. you know where all the crap collects behind the fender welt and rusts the body...

Hey, at least the Mac is still a niche market, and no one can find a Mac guy, even if they';re looking - even temp agencies! One of the things I did was call ALL of them to make sure I was in their list to call for Mac jobs, and if I couldn't take it, I passed it on to other Maccies in town.

Lots of companies want to hire temp-to-perm these days, and those temp agencies are your only way in. :(

One car related and one not. My car related job is maintaining the computers and network used in our local police department's patrol cars and dispatch center. My other job is running a small diving company that does underwater inspections of moorings and docks although this time of year its a little slow. No of guys want to go go swimming in 38 degree water... bunch of wimps.

  5. Modelmaker/fabricator... it's only car related off hours. While I'm getting paid I'm usually making prototype TVs, personal electronics, or architectural models. Through it though I've learned automotive painting, screenprinting, machining, and molding all of which I've used to build my bikes and parts of my cars.

Was in auto related fields for 30 years, I finally got out 4 years ago and went into the steel industry. Now I'm an Operations Mgr. at a plasma cutting/fab. shop. Best damn
move I've ever made. Work for GREAT people and we're busy as all hell. I wish all you
unemployed folks the best in finding something soon.

I am a supervisor responsible for multi-million-dollar advertising revenues on a dying (dead) print product, that pays 1/64th per year (est.), of the revenue we bring in each week for a GIANT company. (Read: I make a very small fraction of the money per year that we deal with weekly.) I keep the cars as a hobby. I worked in a body shop for a while...last thing I wanted to do after work was mess with my cars...

Project Engineer/Superintendant building bridges. Business is booming right now. I work all over Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland. I guess my job is car related, you can't drive your rods if the bridges are out. I put 50K miles on a year for work and none of them are on my roadster. Some days i wish i was unemployed so i had time to drive my vehicles!

Substation Electrician for Pacific Gas & Electric. Based out of the Substation that can be seen in some of the old Fremont drag strip photos background. I know a few old timers that said they would get out of work and roll right down the street and thrash on there cars. But now I hear that a drag strip is going in up in Alameda on the old runway of the air base. Im looking forward to that.
