the governor of m***achusetts let the sema ***le bill die on his desk. at a time when tax money is hard to come by letting this bill die meanes we will have to go out of state to register ***le and pay sales tax.
I know whatcha mean...sure ****s don't it! People making decisions in this state gotta get their act together. Makes me wanna have a tee-partee to help wake-um up!
tell me more about this bill. I need to reg. my car I bought years ago and did not pay sales tax. They can't forgive it by law. Not so much the tax, its the interest on it.
The bill won't help you. It is aimed more a the repoduction cars. Can you get a new bill of sale with a newer date.
I had inquired at the reg. about this and was told I had to pay the salesmtax plus int. However after explaining to one of the supervisers as to how long I've had this in storage since purchased, she rummaged through some paperwork and came up with a copy of a scenario. Farmer parks car in garage. 20 years later he sells it. No paper work exists. VIN must be verified by police. TV7 must be run and you must have a copy. (stolen vehicle report) Bill of sale from previous owner. That was a kind of out for me, and she said nothing. So ,I think if I went to do this there she would not question it. The other out is that if it was a gift from another family member that no sales tax is required to be paid. Seeing as it was in storage at my dad's and I lived with him (since deceased) he must have given it to me(wink-wink),and if you lived at the same address when given only the owner (me) needs to sign the affadavit. So.,when the time comes I will try that unless there are better ways.
Looks like you have a plan. Lot of people don't know thy have to pay the sails tax when thy get the car. Even if thy don't intend to register it for a couple of years.
They're all a bunch of thieves and will squeeze every last nickel out of you that they possibly can!!!!!!!
Most of those new england states are tax hungry. Remember history cl*** about the boston tea party?? Kerry was pressing for a view tax on home owners few years ago. Meaning if your house had any kind of scenic view like a meadow, mountain, creek, lake, etc....you got taxed more. Dont know if it ever went thru.
sell it to somebody in Nh have them register it , notorized bill of sale take their registration to the RMV with the notorized bill of sale pay the sales tax on the sale price it needs to be more than a dollar hint hint , then they will send you a nice piece of worthless official m***achusetts ***le for $50 this only works on 1972 and back also places in alabama work non ***le states which we should be also ,
Oh! but wait! theres more!.... Now when registering or ***leing your vehicle you must pay the sales tax based on the fully restored book value on the vehicle...no matter what you actually paid for the vehicle!!....you can get this abated(after you pay anyway) but its such a pain in *** and you never know what can of worms you will be opening with previous owners and all that!!
yup department of revenue sets the price the registry vampire calls them they quote the price for your rusty prize and you pay it , abatement is a waste of time , some one has to support the big dig
This **** is brought to you by the party that allegedly "cares" so much for the little guy. Always remember that.
One of the many reasons I recently moved out of the Republic of Dukakis and into southern New Hampshire. Can't tell you how many times I had to use a buddy in NH to register some of the vehicles I and my father have bought over the years. Now I get to BE the buddy in NH to all my friends who are still stuck there. Recently a friend of mine in MA built himself a trailer to tow a small sailboat using random parts he had kicking around his shop. Goes to register it and can't. Needs a serial number, which it doesn't have. Either that or he has to submit receipts for every last nut and bolt in the damn thing and then the state can issue it a serial number....... maybe. How do I produce a receipt for a 50 year-old truck axle I dug out of the woods behind my grandparents farm three years ago, he says. Shoulda thought of that before you built it; why didn't you just buy one, the state says. Needless to say, the trailer is registered in my name for the winter and he'll be registering it for himself in MA in the spring (supposedly any out of state registrations coming into MA have to be at least six months old to combat people using out of state friends to cir***vent the system; can anybody verify this?)
Dukakis was our last democrat governor until last year. Almost 40 years. Now deval patrick will show us why. But not singing the ***le bill does not make sense to me.
Probably because all the liberal Prius-driving gays in Cambridge and their adopted Chinese kids (y'know, the same ones that threw the Boy Scouts that were collecting toiletries for soldiers out of town hall because they were promoting war) can't bear the thought of the increased carbon footprint a few extra old cars running around would create. ***achusetts is the worst.
Last night i was told a bill has 10 days to get singed. If not signed it dies. Called a pocket veto. Deval was in washington partying no one was at his desk to see all our e mails, faxes or look at the potion from the world of wheels.
Over the years I have registered and re-sold back many a car/truck to help my brethren to the South. Had many a Bill o' Sale Notarized. There are lots of us here in the Live Free or Die State that will help you out, of course some element of trust is required!
I did jump thru all the hoops and got a ***le right away. Had to get a police person to verify the vin. She ended up spending an hour chatting it up with me and the wife. Getting the stolen vehicle report was tougher. Went to the local police station and they could not understand why the DOT would not run it. After 2 trips there finally they ran it. At first they thought I was reporting it stolen but after explaining it was to verify that it was NOT on a hot sheet and had to be presented to the DOT. I had to write a explaination where the car was , and what /how I came into possesion. I stretched the dates a little and had it NOTARIZED at the insurance company. Had everything notarized and did not provide anything that was not asked for. So, there were several statements, a police vehicle report, vin verified and notarized affidavid. All together about 4 trips to the DOT. That was in Wesy Yarmouth. They are tuff. Plymouth is easier. Got my repainted YOM plate there without much problem. 2 trips. Just do what they say even if it seems wrong to you. I understand the bill p***ed now? Because there is a thread on another forum that talks about problems with DOT, not sure if it will affect currently registered cars.
