Can anybody tell me if this is a 30 or is it a 31 coupe from this picture?
I am saving the money to buy the car and just wondering what year it actually is.

    Donation welcome....

    Those two together say '30.
The two piece aprons (see the split at front edge of the running board) would require removing the body from the frame to change so they probably haven't been changed

    look at the firewall
see if it has a teardrop "late 31"
if u can lift the body
bout where the front of the cowl is
    back of the motor mounts
clean it up for the number..

  10. i'm curious , how did you come to that conclusion?

Early '31s had a '30 style grill shell. Henry used them until they were gone. Then switched to the '31 style shell. The late '31s had a dimple in the firewall. The motor is probably not original. The only way to know for sure it to find the serial number on the frame.

Great find. Good to see that they are still out there hiding in the weeds.

Fill hole of radiator looks like no threads(31). Good after market eyes help to beat the band.

I would say 1931---SS strip around cowl, like my old 1931 pickup in 1959.

From the grille shell and the splash aprons it is almost certain to be a '30. A dead sure way to tell is to look under the dash on the firewall and see if there are rectangular support brackets for the radiator support arms. 30's didn't have these and Henry added them in 1931. And for the record the stainless cowl band was on both years.

blow it up to 400% n ya can see the line straight down from the backside of the cowl runs thru the apron 1 year only definately 1930 aprons

  24. If you want to buy it, why does it matter? Buy it and the paperwork should tell you. Needs the same amount of work eiter way, and you can build it to the same car from either year. Parts are available for both, mostly interchageable.

Does not matter in the least, I have always wanted a 30 or a 31 A coupe and never cared which one it was. I was just wondering because I never was quite sure how to tell them apart.

This one will be in my shop soon, 30 or 31.

Post some pictures when you get it in your shop. The experts will have some other views to reference.
