    Hey Doug,
Did you guys make it home OK after the meeting?? What did Joe find wrong with the PT?

Glad to see you got back with the truck, bright red wires/blackwalls would look great on it. Did you call Demo about the early dress up stuff??
Paint the steelies black for a neat wheel change on the 36!

You could always make it a clone of the "Happy Day's" pickup......

I like little old pickups with fenders, so I'd add a set of black painted fenders with a chromed headlight bar.

Maybe a different gauge set up, but all that thing really needs is to be driven.

    Congrats!

Nice and clean driver with not hokey stuff on it, nice score, man!

I can see the gauges not being to traditional or keeping in theme, but, if they help you keep it alive, they work!

Its a well-done car, but doesn't turn my crank. If it were mine, I'd put a Flatty and a Borg-Warner T-5 in it --- and re-paint it too.

Doug, you already know my opinion. :) Change up the gauges, coat the headers and exhaust black, add some cool vintage engine dress up goodies, add the Guide headlights you want, pinstripe it and done.

Oh and if you're looking to change up the steering wheel and seat, talk to me if you want to sell the existing stuff!

    Cool as is....

Yep on the paint and gauges later and maybe the steering wheel...but for now (weather permit) I would enjoy it, Rick.

Wow! Tasteful yet plain. Nothing over the top but the attention to detail is there.

Jeff, yep..... the Wilson's are a talented family with a lot of cool cars. He did tell me it had a later Buick motor that gave him a few troubles, then he switched it out to a 350.

yes, we did make it make ok.

I don't think a Happy Days clone is in order , but I will look at getting some early dress up parts for the motor as mentioned.

I don't have the time to rip into this truck too far. I will just make a few changes and drive it.

    Bull,

I appreciate your opinions ! I think the Guide headlights will be one of the first things I do, so I can have some front turn signals done tastefully. You will be first on the list if I start change some of the parts out.

*****'n hot rod. I am sure you will fine tune and detail it a bit, but make sure you work on wearing it out at the same time.

Its nice now, leave the stock height windshield, so your knees are protected, yes rps are smallish on the inside. This way people can come up to you and say it will be nice when its done

Simple is better, and less work to clean. Drive and enjoy!

You lost me on the knee comment. What does the windshield have to do with clearance for the knees

I think he means that your knees are up around your neck when you drive a rpu due to the small cabin space, so leave the full height windshield to protect your knees from the elements . . . lol.

  24. cool rpu...I wouldn't change much...enjoy it...be ready for that first day of spring and go cruisin'
