I picked up a box of 94's. Six total. Let's just say that the whole box was slightly over $100 bucks! Being nice to people goes a long way.
Yes, it is possable to build a hot rod on a budget, you just have to be patient.

I wore my HAMB hat all day Saturday and not one person said anything about it. I was starting to think I was the only HAMBer at Turlock.

Got there at about 6:30. Weather was perfect. Picked up a set of 48 Lincoln gauges on the way out for my 48 Ford moor door. Prettiest gauges I ever saw.

I went with Furbisquick- i wasn't looking for parts for cars, just looking for Bric-A-Brac! lol
I scored a 1940's Phlueger fly fishing reel with good old cloth line on it- mint for $15 bucks. pretty stoked on that. Got a 1949 HOTROD for $5 bucks, and several others from 1951-52 for $5 each with some killer Rex Burnett cutaways in 'em. And last but not least, i bought a really good antique bed from Jim Lattin of all people for $10 bucks. Pretty damn good score day for me, got some stuff i wanted but wasn't expecting to get and for pennies on the dollar. nice weather too. Nice enough for a few MULLETS to come out of hiding.

This is the first Turlock I have missed in 18 years. I woke up on Tuesday with a knee the size of a football. I have an electric Jazzy to use, but I could not bend my leg to even get in the truck:mad:

super-duper wet on friday. met some nice people. some guy also from Escalon and i didn't get his name.
didn't sell much. funny thing was that this year i had the best stuff i've ever had for sale. didn't sell one of those items. mostly high dollar Ford 427 stuff, Holman Moody intake, 3x2's, etc., etc. sold some small stuff. sold my Model A fenders and one Muncie.
seemed like foot traffic was about 70 percent of normal and sales were way down.

i didn't shop much. i did find a complete, in the box, Hurst installation kit for a 4-speed Camaro/Firebird for $40.

and...i also found an N.O.S. Jones mechanical tach for $75.

already looking forward to next year.

Tommy, was it Kirk? i think you are right. he's got a place out on Van Allen Road and does fab work and such? i think he mentioned he's got an A sedan? his dad has a '70-'73 white trans am?

    Payasos???? wtf???
some times, this smallword really amazes me. my brother is really good friends with Greg Lazzorini thru the produce industry over in Salinas. my buddy and i met up with Greg and his gang last year and this year on our Bonneville trips.
Here's a pic of our digs on the salt and my two 70's trailbikes. (about all that i can afford)

Greg just got back from the GNRS with my bother's car and Jesus' car.

    fukn small world.

Dang I miss Turlock swap meet, was stationed at Castle AFB in Merced from 1986 to 1995. No good swap meets close to me anymore, nearest is about 2 1/2 hours away.

oh ****. sorry Tom, i didn't know this was you.
that Kirk fella seemed like a decent guy. his place is only a few miles from ours.
is he on the hamb too?

yeah, you should try to get to the salt this year.
    we have a good time.

i'm gonna clean up the impala in the next month so we can get serious about selling it.
we haven't tried to sell it at all yet. not sure what it's worth.
people have just found out about it over time.
like i mentioned to you, a guy that works with ross really wants it.
richard (the wagon dude) wants it.
and you sounded kind of interested.

let me know if you want some pics. since you live in manteca now, it would be easy for you to come check out.
i think we are at 9K plus the DMV fees which are probably a couple hundred dollars. it's out of the system but the guy never non-opd it.

good to see you this weekend.
