Ok, So I have got a 1964 pontiac catalina that I need to remove the trim around the windows on. Can anyone tell me how to do this without damaging the unobtanium parts?
    Thanks....Mike

I made this many years ago, to remove the chrome trim
around the windows on my '65 Pontiac.

I made mine after a now former friend tried to "show me how it was done",
and ruined a few pieces that I was never able to replace.

The hook end is thin enough to slide between the gl*** and chrome.
Then you slide the hook to the left, until you find the factory clip.
The end of the hook goes behind the clip, then you rotate the handle
to GENTLY pry the clip away from the window frame. Applying a little
upward pressure on the Chrome with your other hand might be helpful.

The clips can not be replaced, without removing the gl***.
Cheap insurance, replace them anyway, if you have the gl*** out.

  9. You can always just have a gl*** company come out and remove them. There are a few guys around who can still do that type of window garnish without bending it all up. If you've never done it before, or had a look at how the clips work, it's tough to do.

Getting them back on is alot easier, tho.
