Well these turned up in the bottom of a coffee can that had some 32 parts from the old owner.... my guess... older repops... But to be honest...Ive only seen 1 other 32 5w...ever. I need to get out more.
some of the 31truck inside door handles and cranks are way beefier than the 32 ones I have... always wondered why...the A stuff seems nicer....gasp!
hahaha....to be honest once more. When I pulled them out I thought they were from a closet door...but then noticed the contour of the mount matched my body reveal... again I looked at the A truck handles and thought "those are sweet"..."these look cheap" almost threw them in another bucket. probabally are real, for all i know...and I guess there IS a ****y in this thread.hahaha
Sad but true...i still almost pissed myself when i read it.... my young ask me what authentic meant the other day...i should have used this ****ogy
I have a pair just like those,, off a 31 Vicky that was in a fire. I believe those were burnrt at sometime in thier life.
My '30 A Cabriolet has them...exactly..only yours are in better condition than the P***enger side of mine.
These are 30-31 Ford, Victoria and Cabriolet style handles. They are early replacements since they are nickle plated steel rather than stainless as OEM production handles would be and the shafts do not have the factory notches on them to lock them into the latches. The shafts are likely the length of the longest handles in that series as to cover the full applications and be cut to length. The handles are of jacketed construction which would mean they are Ford pieces but later than Model A production for replacement use. Also notice they have the small stamped 28-29 style escutcheon which was used, oddly, off and on through 30 and 31 also though the handle portion is very different in 28-29, much prettier. Also somewhat weirdly, the long curved surface which fits the hand so well is actually the bottom of the handle. When installed at the factory the small ball end goes down rather than up.
