That's the best we ran this year. On Wednesday with Ted driving 1149 went through the 5 mile trap still accelerating (slowly) and got us a best speed so far of 198.915 MPH . We tweaked and tuned all week trying to crack the 200 mark but never made it. That means more homework for us for the next year, 'cause the saying on the salt goes "do your home work or spend the week tuning". Still it was a great week, we went faster, and that's a good thing! The biggest thrill for my week was making my first two passes. Trip number one down the short course was Saturday for my D license which required that I stay under 150 MPH, I kept that run to 139.431 then on Sunday I got to make a C license pass, staying under 175 at 169.902 Dianne Allan also got to make D and C license passes. Then we turned the car over to Ted and dad for the rest of the week. This was by far the most interesting Speedweek I've attended. We arrived early and helped out with the set-up of the venue for 3 days, drove for the first time, experienced my first "wind delay", and rain on the salt. this was also the first time I've stayed through to the end of the week. The experience was a great two weeks which I hope to repeat (although faster) next year. I've got loads of pictures (800) to go through and will get them sorted and post some over the next while. mike
Congrats Mike, I know you, Ted and the gang wanted to break that elusive 200 mark. Next year you can "kill" it with the info you garnered this year! A group of us (40) over at Mainstreet are pulling a bus trip together.....you'll have a rooting section!
Mike, kill news for all of you.Your making us canucks proud! Maybe next year some of us Islanders will be cheering for you too Were talkin bout drivin our hot rods down there....Shiny
Good show, Mike!! I'm glad you were able to take her for a spin this year. With a little luck I'll be coming down next year to witness the beast break the 200 mark!
Glad you guys made it back OK. I was figuring on making it back down for the last part of the week but sometimes life gets in the way.
Mike, stopped by your pit area and you and the truck were gone to the staging lanes. Talked briefly with your Dad and he said you had made a couple passes. Great that you could experience some of the thrill. You guys will make it into the 200 club, keep working and success next year.
Well, the good news is your faster, the better news is that I will be there next year when you guys blow past the 200 mark! Congrats on your licences too!
Good to hear you went faster Mike. Sorry to hear my $25 of T-shirt money didn't get you over the line. Isn't there another saying in Salt Lake Racing... "There's always next year." LOL
Thanks Guys, It was an excellent week, the best of all the F's Family, Friends, Food, Fun and Faster. I can't imagine us pulling anythingout of our hats in time for October, but right now we're all in a goodmood to begin working on next August. mike
