I have always liked the color Oxblood and i just cant seem to make myself like the" Pee Stain Yellow" thats currently on it ,so im gunna repaint it in the spring.I should have the minor body work done by then and blocked out.I can see it in my head ,painted stock steelies ,55/56 poverty caps,Bias Black walls ,slight rake ,with its current black pleated tuck bench seat interior .Am i crazy to like this color on a 56 ?Im just tired of the same old red, blue ,black thing (no offence intended ) .Anyone gotta a better idea on a color ? Heres a sample of what im liking. Its a 40 Lasalle color ...

The yellow, and that it's a 150, are the things I like best about that car. But it'll look good in that dark maroon as well. It's different enough to make it stand out a bit, but not crazy. Just remember that the darker color means you have to get it straighter to look decent.

gonna take a hellofalot of blockin to get the quarters straight enough for that color unless you make it suede. that yellow aint bad, and the brand new wheels are fine . dont take these guys too serious or they will have you driving what they like and broke.......... but hey its your car, I just like it like it is............. sw:cool:

46-48 and maybe later Plymouths have a color called "Cruiser Maroon" which is a very different and attractive version of "maroon" than Oxblood which is generally a very dark color referring in fact to dried blood rather than arterial oxygenated red.

Your right about the blockin on it ,but i dont mind.Dont really want a suede car this time, been a while since i've had a gloss painted hotrod.Yeah ,i learned a long time ago not to let other people spend my money for me , but i do value every one of these guys opinions ,and i always like to get other point of views when i can.Its not so much yellow i dont like its the shade thats on it.The blockin thats on it now looks like it was done by a 3 yearold with bad eye sight. To me it kills the car up close .It does take photos well though ...

I like dark reds and maroons. If you aren't against a new color, Lexus has a new three stage pearl (looks like Candy Apple Red) that is a very stunning color. I guess the imports are good for something.:D

I have a blue and white one - I'd prefer yellow and black - Nice Car, Nice Combo.

What are you trying to do??? Stock old-school solid colors, or is the sky the limit with modern pearls & metallics?

Personally, I'm a huge fan of the white top & flank 2-tone for anything stock look. But also really like modern-tech ruby reds or sapphire blues partnered with heavily pearled cream.

Old school warrior.....black & white all the way.

good luck on a hard decision!

I really dig my buddy Bob's 56, gray with black cobwebbing around the trim, 4 point rollbar and Cragars.

I have a blue and white car...lots of similar cars around...try something different..like the yellow and black..

  29. on a 150 its kinda hard to do a two tone except the roof,I really think the aztec bronze is great with Ivory roof,I have one coming home soon in blue & white.....only thing missing on the yellow car is a straight axle :D
