Any idea what car/truck this belongs to? A friend saw it for sale at antique shop....just curious what it's from. Thanks
They are really cool. They look like an early pinball machine under a gl*** globe. The start of the space age.
Ooooo just wait 'til you find out how much the generator for the lights for that costs. The gauges are lit by electroluminescense (sp), and run on something like 110 volt, ramped up by a generator. Not cheap. At all. Cosmo
Wow...that took all of 6 minutes to identify. ratfink....not sure on cost, I'll see if he can recall.
Cosmo......You mean when I accquired mine, I needed to get another piece.....or is this "generator" attached to the cluster itself???i
Wonder if you need a generator or if a standard 120V automotive converter would suffice? Those are getting to be standard in a lot of new vehicles and it's road hockey season across the snow belt. Looks like the ultimate gauge orb for a bubbletop
I just sold a 66 Charger last year that had the electroluminesecne(sp?) lights in the dash. The power pack is the same as this one and it is a seperate piece. 200 volts of current these things operate off of. Cool as hell when they work but a real pain in the *** when they dont.
