Need picture of Arfons Green Monster 6 cyl SIDEWINDER. Any Ohio Hambers got one or any ideas for a source? Don't know when they ran it but they were running both that and a Allison V12 car at the same time. Ran this request once before with no luck ,but thought I'd give it another try with the Sunday night crowd.

Bless you , bless you. I knew someone would come through. Now I need to find a May 55 R&C and get the orig pictures. I have a Ranger eng in the shop and thought a clone of the Jr Monster would be a fun build.

If you look at my posts you will see that Green monster #5 is in my shop and is in very good shape. I should have the Allison running by late summer. Your research will show that #5's origional engine was a Ranger. Art and Walt then installed the Allison. I have many pics of the car with both motors. Check out 2009 edition of Hot Rod Deluxe Magazine. Fatdad

Yes, I thought the one you have IS the ch***is that they ran a ranger in before. I was looking for the sidewinder one's pictures . I didn't put your name together with the reply. The Side Winder is the ONLY Ranger powered car I've ever seen that had the engine mounted as it was in the airplane "upside down". I'd like to see a couple of pics that show the Ranger eng in the #5. Especially some good engine shots. Every one inverted is done different some how and I'm curious How Arfons did theirs. They got some good times with the Ranger in the #5. I'm curious what the induction they used was. I posted a pic of my motor on that airplane eng in a car thread. Thats really cool that you got that car as complete as it is. Thanks again for the heads up. Oldebob

A clone of Junior would be great. Crusin' Times Magazine editor (published out of Ohio) is up on that region's drag history. He has even written a few books on the subject. Perhaps you can google and chat with him about old photos. I will start watching for anything on "Junior" or Ranger installations in diggers...#5 included. Fatdad
