I have a 68 El Camino that was my dads. He p***ed a way a couple of years ago. I can't find the keys for the car. Does any one know if they are Briggs keys or GM keys? It would help my look for them so I can get it home.

    Thanks,
    Jim

transistion year, fun stuff. Parts book says octagon head and round head for 68, and rectangle/oval for 69. 66 and older is one number, 67 is another, 68 another, 69 another.

It would not be the older B10 blank though. I think they added another tumbler in 67.

Jim, if you can't find the keys and you can open the door, remove the door lockset. There is a number stamped on the barrel of the lock. The ignition and doors were keyed the same. Take the door lockset or the number to a chevy dealer or good locksmith and they can punch you a key. I hope this helps. Good luck.
