Just picked up a NOS pair of the 6" unity fog lights and am going to convert them to a headlight beam and run them on the Vicky. Did a search but didn't see anything. Anybody seen these used? Terry
Well humm, They look cool, do they function? Have you checked the wires? Well looks like there's no reason why not to use em. Why go buy a pair of headlights (ex. BLC) that everyone has and over pay for another set WHEN YOU ALREADY have bad *** headlights...what you pay for yours? You honestly think people in the early 40s-50s waited for a set of BLCs if they had a set of Dietz or Unity's? Use whatya got. I paid 40 bucks for a set of Dietz's at Carslie. Done. Next item towards getting the car on the road.....
Hell, if you decide to wait for trendy headlights. I want em for next project. Give ya what you paid. LOL
Ya I bought one at a swap meet for 5 or 10 bucks, Im going to use it on my bike but, I dont know any thing about them.
I used fog lights only on a car I built in college. It was an Opel GT. The stock, rollover headlights in those cars were a pain in the ***. I ran just fog lights for a while, until I mounted new lights in the grill. I guess they put out enough light. I just didn't want to get pulled over.
I ran a pair of those on my t-bucket for a while. Went to the parts store and bought some 6" hi-lo beam seal beam lights.
wanna sell them and get some head lights ??? they do not put out 1/3 the candle power of the smallest headlight ? jim 678 687 6866
We had a pair of those on Flower's roadster for a few years converted to dual filament sealed beams. They worked ok but didn't offer the kind of real road lighting for safe night driving on unlit country roads.......around town and on most of the freeways they were adequate. We finally switched to larger 7" Diezt type lamps when I finally put original '35 lights on my sedan. As ya gets older......ya needs 'mo light at night!!
All you need is some 6" headlamp bulbs with hi and lo beams(outside lamps for 4 headlamp systems) and you're in business IF the bulbs will fit in the housings, depth wise. ENJOY!
I've run them with the dual seal beam bulbs. They throw more light than was originaly on your car. Probably more light than a old Harley Sportster or a Triumph. They are cool lights. If you placed them in closer to the grill than normal they'd look good.
I never had those but used these below since our local track wont let us race after 8 pm without headlights. Since that is the test and tune night races and they are the best attended and most fun I installed a pair of Fog lamps for head lamps. They work very well and meet the criteria. They are tiny compared to yours and can be seen just below each end of the gas tank.
