Here's a HAMB friendly look at the 2009 Canberra Rod @ Kustom Kruise held in Canberra over the Australia Day weekend just gone. More to follow
Most of these are form the Sunday. Saturday was on the 'skid pan' at the driver training facility. I took a heap of stills but they don't do justice to the sideways action that was the order of the day.
Nice pix JB. Shame I couldnt get up there this year !! No more pix of the street rodders for us? ahahaha LMAO Were they all parked on some kinda oval this year? Rat
Missed you Southerners this year. Sunday was in front of Old Parliment House. Succeeded in steering clear of the streetrodders most of the weekend.
how deep was the 'slosh', looked like fun, especially if you're going clockwise. Nextyear with bells on... Cheers, Drewfus
ahhhh, I feel like I have had a rebirth, thats the sort of coverage I was waiting for, talk about make us hang and wait! hope to make it up there next year for some fun in the sun. can we organise some blue polo shirts to wear? I like blue...
Drewfus, 'slosh' would have been about 1/2 foot deep when we started, but track was pretty much dry within about 3 hours.
Hahaha, I think next year will be BIG, 20th anniversary as well. I think red would be nice, maybe we could get some pizza hut delivery boy shirts, Pizza Hut rodders inc??????. .
There is a lot to love about this car. Its got a very cool old style heater other bits n pieces in it. It looks like it was built to be a 100% fun no fuss car. I chased it around town at the last nats at coldbum so I could get a really good look it - I think X38 & Flatattack throught I was going to dry hump it at one stage....
Last three for today. I think Matty and I were the only ones not to wash their cars after the skid pan before the show on Sunday. I over heard numerous people discussing them, saying how nice the were but "shame they got them dirty"
I thought the red rod with one side cleaned and the other still caked in skid pan skuz looked good. It was great seeing the cars getting a workout. It was strange seeing a car as big as the buick getting as sideways as it did!
