Being labeled an FNG is almost the nicest thing anyone has ever called me. Maybe there should be plus and minus signs added to show whether your posts add value or are your basic drivel?
Are you kidding? The fact there is a post counter is ****ed up any way. Many people just post "wow" or "Thats cool" Or "Dont like it" Lots of people dont put anything of any interest on a good thread. They just post to post. Hoping it will increase the number of posts so they dont look dumb or they think people will take them more sreious because of a post count.
Definitely ! People who fly around and post 1000 times in 3 months are just clogging this place with meaningless comments .... Maybe there could be a thumbs up ****on , that appeared as one post in a thread that listed the users who pushed it , so people that enjoyed a thread but did'nt have something positive or helpfull to say would just click that to make the thread stay on top ...
I hear ya, it can be annoying sifting through muliple pages of "good job", "way to go". I made a decision not to get caught up in that unless the guy is asking an opinion that requires that kind of answer. I found the HAMB a few years ago while looking for Model A parts, kind of forgot about it and then ran into an old buddy in a bar who's a member, from there I spent a year getting familiar (and addicted) with this place before I joined. I do wish I would have joined way back when so my date was older. I find that most of the answers are already here if you learn how to use the search engine. When times get better in this town I'll be an alliance member, I had to drop all my subscriptions and clubs over a year ago to free some money up. When things get rolling again I'll pay the well derserved dues and by then I'll be ready to spend some money on my project, believe me I have a list of stuff to get from the alliance venders!
