I 've been told that there is a hot rod shop in California trading under the name of Ferrari hot rods that has speed equipment for Mopar flathead 6's. Anyone out there who can fill me in ?
Google p15d24, then do a seach for george asche, lotsa hotrod parts. Dual and triple intakes, linkages, split exhaust, headers and heads just for a start. He's got it all including OD trannies. Good luck.
We're an alliance vendor and make headers (mild steel or stainless steel) for the Dodge and Plymouth flat 6s. The web page is acting up but here is more info http://www.hanksvillehotrods.com/Products/HeadersHeaderComponents/tabid/568/Default.aspx Here's a pic of Dave S's roadster which uses our headers.
that'd be George JUNIOR- when you call him up and ask for senior, he tells you "He ain't here, he's been dead a long time" in a way that makes you feel about 3 inches tall. I spoke with him for about 45 minutes on the phone once. Best 45 minutes I've spent doing ANYTHING in a very long time. I should call him up again and let him know how my engine came out.
OK , Andy you know my car it's at Stewies shop and is a 29 Victory 6 coupe powered by a Dodge Kew motor (25") with an Edgy head, twin carbs, headers etc. I was told that a shop in California had an alloy sump fitted to a Mopar flat 6 and I am always interested in something new. Thank you all for your replies and I will check out the leads.
Well, the last time that I talk to George Sr he sure seemed alive, telling me stories about his cars. Easy to test this, just ask for George, then figure out whether Jr or Sr answered when they ask which one you want to talk to....their shop is at 814-354-2621. .
Curious if your headers stand off of the block far enough to remove the tappet covers to adjust the valves? I have a set of Langdon's tube headers and they fit tight to the block which ****s... Pete
anybody running the BIG flathead six 250? I seem to be finding speed parts for these engines instead of the 218 and 230's lately.
The long block flathead sixes from Desoto and Chrysler cars are 251 and 265 cu in engines. They are about 2" longer than the short block 218/230 engines. Seems for years the speed stuff was harder to find for big blocks... maybe it's the other way round now that there is so much interest in the short block flatheads? Pete
The headers I am using were custom made as L.H. drive headers are a problem for cars that are R.H. drive ( Aussie cars are R.H. drive). I will be getting some lessons on posting pictures on a forum next week so, if my lessons are successful I will post some pictures for the world to see. dodgekew
