I moved to Tallah***ee florida area about 2 years ago. Ive done some searching but cant seem to find any car shows around here. Anyone know of any? They have a small one at the end of every month at the local wataburger but im looking for something bigger that i dont have to drive 3hrs one way to get to. Moultrie, GA swap meet is next month.
The Moultrie Swap is a good one. Lots of nice stuff, at least, there was the last time I was there. Good Luck
Yep. That's the story. There was a GG in Tally but then it moved to JAX's There is the Spring run and the Turkey run in Daytona. We occasionally had cruise-ins in jax...when the weather permitted.
Nope, no HAMBers in FL. After Anthony White moved down there, we outlawed emm. He turned them all, umm, weird...
don't know of any up that way, but if you make the trip to Garlits for the billetproof show you won't be disapointed.i just turned 40 and last years was by far THE BEST show i have ever been to.props to da po boys!
Cant make march but ill be in ocala this weekend for the all star sprints opener.. Im also planning on garlits museum on saturday if anyone wants to hook up.. We are also thinking about driving down to east bay raceway on friday night for the 360 nationals just because we have never been there.. We land on orlando at 2:15 thurdsay and we head to ocala.. Pm me if your near the area.. Dave
Though it's a pretty good drive for you, this weekend is the River Ranch Rod Run. It's on state road 60, between YeeHaw Junction (no lie, that is really a place), and Lake Wales. It is Friday and Saturday, this coming weekend. Also, as you were told, Billet Proof and The Daytona Turkey Run.
I was gonna go to emarld coast last year but couldnt get home in time for it. (I was an over-the-road trucker last year for 9 months). I've been by garlits museum. It looks kinda small for a car show aint it? I'll have to try and make that one. Thanks. Tallah***ee isnt very rodder friendly. Too many tree huggers here. Main cars around here are the "see how tall i can jack it up to get those wheels that dont fit under my car" type. I think they jackem up that high so they can sit under it and try in hide from the po-po!! HA!
You have got to be kiddin'! I live in Tallah***ee and there's so damned much goin' on I can't hardly keep up with it. Check this out ... http://www.tally-streetrodders.com/index.htm. That will tell you what's happenin' around here. Hell, Sonic on N. Monroe at Old Bainbridge usually has 65 or 70 cars the first Saturday night of each month. Moultrie is comin' up next month and it's not 3 hours up there. It' only 65 miles. You ridin' a bicycle? In March will be the Spring Fling car show at Lee Vause park. Stuff will be goin' on all summer ..
I haven't really found anything great out here either, since I've been stationed here. I'm about 3 hours west of Tallah***ee I guess. Ft walton beach, Destin area. Seems all the good stuff happens too far from me...
Here's a site that helps find events: www.flacarshows.com It's broken up into regions so maybe that'll have something to do up your way. Did we mention Billetproof is less than 60 days away? Mike
man you guys are fast, mike kelly does is homework on shows and I know youve heard it in almost every respones but BILLITPROOF is the bomb,,,,,see you there dave
Since you dont want to drive, you may want to move to a different town. I like it just fine down here. I'm into it for the cars, not the shows. Bet ya like trophies too!
Not much to add, just moved to Florida a few months ago myself. Next question, any good salvage yards in Florida?
Typical newbie... Im thinking you need to sit back and relax... Thats uncalled for .. So no roundy round or drag race fans gonna be at ocala speedway or garlits museum thursday thru saturday? Oh ya im bringing my long johns too .... Dave
I'm not a "show" guy either, but I do hit the Turkey Rod run in Daytona as a vendor every year,a nd take time to walk around a bit usually. Billetproof is on countdown, and as far as shows go, it's the best show and the most fun I've had in years! Be there!
the first sunday of the month there is the webster swap meet. just google it for details the third sunday of the month there is the palatka swap meet. just google it for details like mentioned the groundhog gala is coming up, sponsored by the road devils there is a junk yard in gainesville called roadside relics there is another in old town, called old gold but i have heard it is expensive there is http://www.memorylanefla.com/ for parts also
Some pretty good ones in Tampa. Coffer's (not sure of the spelling but sounds like that). That's were my son goes in Tampa. Langston's up on 301, but I think they're kinda pricey .. Just check the phone book or online .. Most are on the east side of Tampa .. (of course there isn't a "west" side to Tampa)..
not to **** heads, but, he's been building traditional rides longer than we've been alive....that's just how he is
