I am a new member. I have been a hotrodder since the early 50s and still love the sport along with drag racing. I ran a nostalgia drag circuit for about ten years during the '90s called "The Eastern States Timing Assoc." but I got cancer and had to bail on it. My love is the traditional rods that I grew up with and the REAL nostalgia drag racing. ESTA had turned into a bracket club with only headsup racing being in Jr Fuel dragsters and Nostalgia eliminator that ran blown cars off and index that is now called NETO. I am interested in races like the Jalopy drags and REAL HOTRODS so i hope I found the right place.
Welcome tot he HAMB. Your name caught my attention as I'm a long time Opel GT fan. I used to show a red '73 GT. I sold that one 7 years ago. I still love 'em! I'm currently completely a '63 Falcon Kustom build that utilizes a hacked-up front GT bumpber for a floating grille effect. And pics of yours? I grew up in Youngstown; How far is Pottstown? I don't recall that name.
Hello and welcome to the HAMB from nw. Pa. I too was involved in drag racing (S/S, MP, Pro Stock, and comp) from the late 60's thru the mid 80's. All of the rule changes with the elimination of some of the sportsman classes by nhra ( modified production, etc.) did me in. I started building hot rods and never looked back. Enjoy the sight. There is alot of info here if you know where to look.
Hey, welcome. Your Opel Gasser screen name caught my eye as well. Sold all my Opels about 12 years ago. Had about 20 of them in two sheds. Kadett,s Manta,s, Ascona,s. All 1966 to 1971 models.
Old Opels are cool - Here's a shot of mine. It's been tubbed w/4link, this is just before it gets the strut frontend. This is a total budget car with few dollars in it, mostly trade or left over stuff. I've owned 20 years so it's about time it got some attention....
