I got these two Blue Dot Tail Lights. The guy that gave 'em to me said that they were off of a '37 Chevy. I happened to have a '37 in the garage, tried to put them in the mounting bracket, but they would not fit or mount up right. They were too narrow. Another guy told me that they look like they came off of a '40 Plymouth. I saw a set of '40 Plymouth Glass Blue Dots on eBay and they don't have as big of a curve bending outward to them. The ones on eBay were almost flat. They are made of glass and there are two numbers cast on them: 854746 & B465. They are 3-5/8 inch by 2 inch. The curve out about an inch and there are three distinct raised glass lines inside of a band of glass on either side of the blue dot. (You can't really notice that in the picture). Here are the pictures: Any info is greatly appreciated. The HAMBers are the best when it comes to figuring this stuff out. Thanks...
Not many OEM lenses that didn't have some ID acronym on them or at the very least a year. Could be aftermarket, but they're useless without a housing and bezel. They just don't ring a reminder bell with me. dj
the numbers on them could either be part numbers or casting mold numbers. You might be able to do a p/n search on the internet at a autoparts website or just walk around at your next rod run and see if you can find a car that has similar taillights.
