My swap meet find @ Turlock

    I bought this at the Turlock this past weekend. My first Mercury! 90K original miles. Original flat motor, interior, etc... Real sweet little car. :)

    i like the first mercs.i've got 2 sedans i need to build .they are a long ways from your beauty.

    That is a beauty!
    The one oddity about the 39-40 Mercurys is that the pinion gear of the rearend ring and pinion set is also the driveshaft! Yes the pinion gear is the driveshaft, no coupler, no rivets, just what 5-6 feet of steel gear shaft.

    Nice car, and rare! Not many Merc 2-doors around, '39-'48.

    I'm envious,gorgeous Merc you've got there!

    I was funnin' with ya,I have a custom Biederlack blanket in my truck too,they're made near my home and warm and fuzzy...

    Drive the wheels off that thing now!

    That merc was for sale at the Albany oregon swap meet in november. It was reasonable like 12K. It was a nice looking car just needed some interior work. Good for you it looked like a good ol car.
