found this link on Edelbrock home page. http://survey.constantcontact.com/poll/a07e2g718kkfqi6p8bq/start.html now's your chance to voice your opinion on nailhead or hemi or Y's or???? heck, they brought back the Slingshot, what's next? what else can we think of to push here?
Very interesting............most want heads, but I don't think many of us will come up with the coin!! Still, I would like the project started.
Yep, intakes aren't THAT hard to come by. Only problem with heads is they'll probably be crazy expensive & just not feasable to do cost effectively.
the 409 got a complete makeover. 4 intakes, a head and the finned covers. inexpensive by no means but somebody is buyin em up! they do look tight all done up.
Though if you're talking the Offy stuff, it flat out ****s... Stock stuff makes more power... it looks nice but flows for ****, and I'm talking on an engine that doesn't flow that well to begin with...
I'm with the guys who want it all. We want the world and we want it now. I was encouraged by a conversation with TA performance a while back, he said they had seen a bigger increase is sales of nailhead parts than they had in big block Buick stuff.
I'd love to build a rod with a nailhead just 'cuz they look so cool. The heads would be a good thing. They don't hafta be aluminum.
It's less expensive for them to do them out of aluminum at this point. Hmmm... torque from idle to 5k. I don't think a 5 speed is needed. A wide ratio 4 speed and highway gears work fine.
I would want reasonable mechanical FI setup, alluminum valve covers, headers, stainless valves, cams etc. there are lots of blocks, heads, motors etc. alluminum heads wouldn't breathe much better then stockers. just not enough room for nice ports. FI setup or tri power would be way more cost effective than heads...
