That's what happens when you let Engineers and not hot rodders build a car . It's a travesty what they have done to her. instead of holding on to some history they completely erased it. just my .02
Tony: did you know there is a SERIES three book on Project X? I have a duplicated copy of each. Could never locate original copies for sale around here.
Didn't know that, but kind of figured there may have been. It just seemed like the way they did them it would have ended abruptly if it stopped at #2.. Do you know where one could get a copy of #3? I'd love to get it and add it to my two originals. Chevrolet150..Great to hear your doing a tribute car. I've always been surprised that there dosn't seem to be any around, especially considering how the car was so popular...no pun intended.. I sold a good friend a 57 210 post car last year..when i had it, the thought of cloning X was on my mind but knew i didn't have the finances to do it the way i wanted....... Tony
Would you be ineterrested in coping Them. Just tell me what it will cost. I am sure they got the rear wheelwell raduising feature in there somewhere.Tim
You can find anything on Ebay! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250358775844 Yes, I am the sucker who paid $100 for them. Love my 57's. Rick
To me this is what Project X was all about. How would it run with injectors and a 4 speed? How about a big block? Clutch flite? "Don't know. Lets try it and see."
Actually, there is nothing in the books i have about the radius work done to the fenders, these are prior to that. That's one reason why i said they will be no help in cloning the HK version of the car..But, I havn't forgot about you either, just havn't had the time to check and get back to you..I will. Tony
from project x to project xtra ugly!!! shame...that car was one of the first dream cars as a kiddo!!!!
Hey I got that one! Man I miss that car........no wonder the GM is falling apart. Look at their "smart" idea on what to do with an American ICON!
I used to love seeing updates to Project X. I loved the thought of a project mule that just kept getting kicked hard and then changed/put back together. Now though it is a joke. I mean, it IS a test mule. Did they throw a LCD TV radio and heated seats in it?
bttt.,,,i did a search, but this was the best thread that came up. any other threads dedicated to this car? lets talk about project X some more! so what color was it ??? i have always heard corvette yellow.. would love to here more about engines and wheel combos over the years
