Been lurking on and off for quite a while, so I figured it was about time I registered and posted an intro. I grew up around hot rods and started driving my 40 Plymouth Coupe at age 16(I'm 32 now). The plymouth is flathead 6 powered w/speed equipment(fenton head, intake, headers). Very low, raked, big and little Firestones. I have a channeled Deuce Roadster in bare metal that many HAMBER's may know. It is powered by a hot Studebaker V8 hooked to a T5 trans. The roadster gets a lot of highway miles on it and is a regular at Bonneville, El Mirage, Antique Nats, Paso Robles, VLV, Hot Reunion, etc... We just finished a choppped and channeled Deuce Tudor for my wife. I is powered by a Stude V8 and 5 speed also. She also drives a 55 studebaker coupe mild custom with a stude V8 and T-10 4 speed. Our other drivers include a 63 Stude Lark(slammed, 5 spokes, louvers), and a 64 El Camino(lowered, stock). I resurrected and drove for a few years the former Eddie Dye/ Lively Set roadster. Sad to say that car is not in my hands now, but it has gone to a good home. No pictures, I'm not very computer literate. Maybe another time. Thats about it for me, FIRE AWAY!
ahhh awesome, PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!! i have 2 studes, a 1957 silverhawk with a 289 and a 1955 stude champion coupe with flat 6
.........welcome Tom. We had a chopped '55 Stude Coupe for 10 years and LOVED it. Had a 259 ci "Bear Cat" V-8 auto that ran great. Heavy car, lead foot and still managed 21-22 mpg on the hiway. Love to see some photos one of these days.........in the mean time, sounds like you may have a few stories to share???
I think I just saw your cars at the salt! Your wifes car is purple? Figured the Studie powered cars had to be together.
Thanks for the replies guys. Klaz, that is my roadster, that pic is probably 3 years old? It's a little more detailed now. Thanks for posting the picture! A/FX, My wife drove her Tudor to the salt this year it is baby blue, but may have looked light purple in a certain light? Psycho, I will try to figure out the picture thing another time. When I have more time.... Thank's everybody for the welcome.
welcome Tom.. Thats gotta be my favorite roadster.. I saw your wifes sedan at the flats, its damn nice, she was there with another yellow one right.. You had the baby in tow as well.. very nice cars from the Immortals..
Hi ya Tom, this is Mike from Phoenix, the goon with the yellow F1 at VLV. I've talked with you several times at CHRR, Antique Nats and VLV, usually with big "Wronway" Jim or Howard from England on hand. I saw you at Antique Nats this year, but I never managed to say hi (involved in too much foolishness with my fellow AZ miscreiants). I did see Diana and Willow run those two sedans, they did really well. Those cars were really strong and man, them two gals sure can drive! Anyhow, glad to see you here, welcome to the HAMB.
Still kicking myself for not stopping and taking a picture of your cars lined up at the end of the road Thursday. they looked pretty darn good parked there with the moody sky behind them. Mike
what up tom ?.......donnie here....hows it goin man? glad you signed up..i think you will like it on here . just ignore all the bullshit...but then again you have always been that kind of dude......talk to you soon.......later,donnie
Welcome Tom. Always enjoy talking to you. If I can put as many miles on the '36 as you put on that Roadster I'll be a happy man. Wayno
Welcome. I really like the look of both your cars. They are right on. It's always good to have more people around here with traditional early Fords Neal
Whoa, I thought you were a HAMBer already..... I don't know you or anything, but I know your car. And I have heard your name a handful of times on the board. Glad you joined. This was my wallpaper for a long time. I think it is your car before the tire/wheel change....and apparently windshield too!
It's about time...! "Jeee's" Tom..., I've seen you at El Mirage and other venues around Cali and have admired your roadster for years...! Welcome aboard...! Mark
Dig your cars man. I like the new C-dan... and the yeller one that it always seems to be parked next to. Sam.
hey tom... sorry i missed you guys before i left b-ville, did you guys get the bugs on the car sorted out??, did you run that banger????
Here's another old one. Pomona about 5-7 years back. Always cool cars, thanks for that. Welcome to the ALMIGHTY HAMB Jimmy
Hey Tom! How's it goin' man! You once told me you lurked on here every once in a while! I'll post some pics of your car... I have enough of 'em! Say hi to Diana and your little boy from me! See you in October! Maurice Here ya go: Sorry, don't have pics of the Stude and the Plymouth in the computer...
