Charlotte Good Guys 24th & 25th

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tudor, Oct 8, 2003.

  1. Anyone going to the Good Guy show in Charlotte? It would be cool to meet up with some of you there or caravan from Atlanta.

  2. I plan on being there Saturday...not to speak for them, but should be a herd o' Carolinoleums there...

  4. Great - I am glad you all will be there. Rat Rod - are you taking a car? I'll be in my 46 and leaving Friday too. I am staying at the Hampton Inn on the Concord side.

We will have to get together - any suggestions? 38chevy4door - can you post a picture of your car so I can watch out for you?

Hopefully we'll get the same spot as usual..under the back stretch tunnel and to the right. Use your nose to find the skunk smell. That's my Heineken.

dunno if I'll get to be there or not, I'm wanting people to come to the last oakboro cruise of the year though, I'll definately be out there, perhaps in the poncho...There was a ton of cars last time, town was pretty much shut down. SHould be even better this month.

Switch, you're a homo if you can't make it. You're a homo if you do, but that's besides the point.

As crappy as the weather has been it's pretty tempting to just hop in the daily driver and shoot down there for the weekend.

If your going to spend the time to head there you really need to take enough time off to make sure you participate on the poker run on Thursday. It goes to about 5 or 6 NASCAR race shops. You can do this in your late model, not as much fun, but at least you can see the shops. It's one of the unique aspects of the Charlotte show that the other GG shows can't offer.

The BEST feature they have there is the cruzn on the track at nite. You need to hook up with my folks in the '56 (or someone else that has a hot rod there) and at least ride around the track. That track, at nite, is the COOLEST! I've been fortunate enough to be able to cruz my Chevy under the lites there and also my late model Corvette as well. Man, that Corvette hugged those banks! As far as thinking the weather there is going to be better then here, make sure you pack your long johns and gloves cuz the last 3 years it has been colder there then MI. Don't forget your rain poncho as well.

It's supposed to be in the 60s to 70s this weekend and sunny/dry.

Pack the shorts!!! Well worth heading there then! [IMG]

Look for, and stop and say "hi" to my mom and pops. They'll be in a blue 56 Olds with big billet wheels, but don't hold that against them [IMG] If the hoods not open, ask to see inside. Slickest 385 I've ever seen and the lowering job has to be seen in person.

If you see the car, walk up to the tall, skinny guy and ask him if he's Denise's dad. [IMG] He runs around with a '39 Chevy, white and black cherry, redish/orangish '40 Ford, and an AWESOME '33 Ford Vicky, white and grey. They usually don't park too far from where you guys do. Drive in from the tunnel, turn right, they park a bit of a distance out between turn 3 and 4. Make sure you tell him your some HAMB buds. He hears me talk about this site all the time. [IMG]

  19. Why do the fates mock me?!! Hate missing it, but I'm out...just found out Tammy's folks are coming up this weekend, so I'll be doing the in-law chauffering thing...

Guzzle Diet Mtn. Dew, look at cool customs, and make fun of late-model truck beds on old trucks done in bad taste for me...

Hmmm, I would bring my resume to that one. Nothing like a little 5-axis Haas machining to make your knees tense.

Brandon, you would be my new best friend for the weekend if you could set something like that up. Big Olds will have a top by then and we'll for sure not miss the next GG Charlotte gathering. [IMG]

Ahahaha! Of course you know that he who's absent is the butt of all the jokes. I'll try to remember some of them and insult you when it's over.

Denise, I'm climbing under that bastard Friday morning. If it goes without a hitch, your old man should have a nasty trunk by Saturday evening.

Hows parking done down there? And do you pay at the gate?

Take the trailer? Or can you find a local rental truck?

Thinking if I find a project what I can do to bring it home!

Denise, you sure you want him to know there are HAMB'ers there, he may not let you play with the group anymore.. We can tell him about all the topless pics you post on the Horny Ass Men with Belly site (HAMB).. and he thought it was a car sight...

we'll definitely set something up for GG '04, off the road for a full year i can have no more excuses. there will be a catch to the tour, only hamb'ers and you gotta bring the ride. i'd love to have a shot of the cars in front of the shop.

fatass - screw the small haas, how about 6 daewoo machining centers! you'll freak out when you see the capabilities of our CNC dept. billet does have its place - inside racing engines!
