. It's a bitch to be boring but somebody has to do it. I've lusted after these cars for 40 years. I'm just a custodian(sp?)for them. They will be well cared for.
I'm sick of '32's also but sick cause I don't own one. My neighbor's '32 5 window will be featured in the next issue of Hop Up coming out in Nov. It was given a trophy by the Kennedy Bros. @ the '04 Lone Star Round Up.
Yea jester I hate that you drive a neon to work... And have a small block chevy with a turbo 350 in your chopped 53 chevy... I couldn't resist jester..
Hey lilbill.. Maybe its all that glas your sick of. Not sure what you call all those others but............ How many real Deuce's have you seen? --------------------------------------------------------- "I'm not braggin man so don't put me down... but I've got the fastest set of wheels in town."
Then don't buy one... Don't look at them at car shows... Turn the channel when you see one on TV. RYAN and I passed each other and exchanged a wave on highway 71, North of Joplin, on Sunday. RYAN- What were your thoughts when you saw my coupe motorin' down the road? I'd be hurt if you said, "gettin' sick of 32 Fords". As ratty as it is, my '32 just makes me proud to own and drive. It's an honest to God privilege. My dad brought it home 34 years ago, so it just sort of happened. Now, I have two other '32s, also... both sedans... I've had others, as well. I'm a deuce magnet I guess. I appreciate the shit out of other cars, but none (for me) can even come close to a deuce. Trendy? Not. There's reasons more people want one and you really don't need to look too deep to see them. Alot of the reason these guys are building them as "kits" is because the guys that have them just don't want to sell them. Once they get in your blood... JOE
I think a lot more T's and A's were hopped up in the early days than 32's due to availability and low cost. The deuce got popular because of the flathead that it came with and was a natural to hot rod.All the B movies about drag and street racers showed mostly 32's,folks watched those flicks and wanted one too.The car looks killer stock or in hot rod form, the design is simple but everything compliments the other;there's no wasted lines and where are you going to find a simpler classic grill and shell? I prefer orphans myself;thats why I'm building a '29 Essex, but I would take a 32 in a heart beat;its the essence of whats a hot rod.

I like it that the subject ''32 Ford" gets so many peoples panties in a bunch. I've also noted that the people who don't own one are usually the one's who don't like/want one. The first hot rod I actually fell in love with was Bill Neikamps A roadster that won the first AMBR trophy. Then A deuce roadster came into my life,(actually owned by a neighbor) and things haven't been the same since. I guess Beatnik's slogan tells it best, you either get or you don't. I live in fear that the government will recall all '32's (real or clone) and I'll either have to give up the 3 that I currently have (not a tupperware one in the bunch) or go into hiding with them. If you hear of a recall just remember the secret door knock or I'll never let you in. Frank

Tommy...Your sport coupe has been a favorite of mine for years. It is different but not. If your roadster looked like your sport coupe it would get lost in the sea of black 32 roasters with red wheels. Are you keeping the sport coupe now? Am I right or wrong about people being less willing to do different things with the 32. Take a 5 window coupe for instance. I told a hot rodder I was going to chop my five window more than the standard 3 1/2". He told me I can't do it,it won't look right. It's my car I'm gonna do it. I don't want it to look like every other five window out there. I'm gonna break some rules! If I would have said I was chopping a model A 5" he would have said "cool". Clark
[ QUOTE ] Oh, so you not only hate Dueces, but tits too huh? [/ QUOTE ]LMAO! '32 Fords took a big step down when I saw the 'Brizio' episode of Rides a while back.
"NO ONE has explained the attraction of a '32 Ford satisfactorily to me" Or to me, but it's there! I grew up in the back seat of my parents' '48 Ford, so early Fords were the natural order of the universe for me, but as a child I was essentially unaware of hot rods and would have had no idea what a '32 was--they certainly weren't generally around in the fifties. I more or less accidentally acquired a copy of HRM in Panama about 1959 and completely LOCKED ON to all sorts of stuff I had never seen before and didn't begin to comprehend. An early observation: A '31 or 2 Chevy coupe in that first HRM was an interesting car, but didn't rattle my cage. My first known contact with pictures of Deuces immediately hooked me for all time. I knew NOTHING about any of this when it happened, and it's hard to see what the distinction is--to an ignorant civilian like me at the time, there's precious little difference between a '32 Ford and Chevy. By the time I found the first big issue of R&C with those cover roadsters, I was completely gone. I think people are just miffed at '32 Ford OWNERS, not the cars; We do tend to divide the world into real '32 owners and riff-raff...sorry.
[ QUOTE ] I told a hot rodder I was going to chop my five window more than the standard 3 1/2". He told me I can't do it,it won't look right. It's my car I'm gonna do it. [/ QUOTE ] Clark, A death chop on your five window is going to ROCK! Wonder why those three windows from up your way blew everyone away a few years back and still no one else is willing to do it to their '32? For me, the death chop is a no brainer. When are you starting on it? JH
Riff-raff eh? I'm gonna own a Deuce five window someday far far away. Aside from a pickup cab the four door sedan probably has to be the cheapest body style, right? Doesn't someone make a conversion with the rear quarters and windows to turn it into a five window?
SoWhat, Go ahead and chop it all you want, it's still going ot be a '32 and IMO it's hard to f**k one up. Some of you may have heard of Gary Roberts who lives in Toledo, Ohio. He has chopped about a gazillion cars. When I first got my '32 5w I called him about chopping it. I wanted something on the order of 3" taken out. His reply was "If your going to chop it, CHOP IT. He had one of the most awesome '32 5ws around at that time and it was chopped 4". His advice is that a '32 5w just starts to look good with 4" out of the top. I've got short legs for my height and I've sat in at least 40 '32 5w's that were chopped. I can't sit up in any that have been chopped over 3 1/2" unless the seat is nothing more than a cushion. I still lust for a 4" chop so we'll see when the time comes. Frank
With so many Deuce-owners reading this post , maybe I could ask for your help ? Well I take my chance : I have those 2 rear fenders you can see below. Both are NOS .I will probably use the roadster-fender for my own project , but I can`t get myself to modify the Tudor-piece to fit the Roadster. Bought a Brookville fender instead. What I was wondering is this : What would be a correct price for the NOS Tudor fender ( in USA ) if I was to sell it ?
[ QUOTE ] JUNK, I'm sending it to the scrap yard. [/ QUOTE ]hey six carb.... is that yours? shes a real beauty i like it more pics please

Thanks for the kind words. It's still for sale but as you say it's not a real 3W or a 5W with a chopped top. It's too different for most guys. Believe it or not when I started the Sport coupe, satin black with red wheel WAS different.
Harrison....can't start on it til late fall. I want it done for the Showdown in the spring. Tommy....are we gonna see the new pick up at Cumberland?? Clark
My real deal 5 window... sold it last fall... and I'm countin' the days till the next one. It will happen. Before that I had a 'glass '32 roadster. I grew up with a wish list of cars to own. Next up is a '40 coupe. Looks like it may happen in the next month or so. When it's done something else will take it's place. Even though the list is long, '32 Fords top it... Hey Clark.. ya wanna swap that Deuce of yours for a '33 Five window body???

This... i didn't say i didn't LIKE them, i said i'm getting burned out seeing them all over these "rod builder" shows. any halfwit with deep pockets can get some catalogs and throw together a '32 clone. it's like these biker wannabes and their cookie cutter "choppers". a '32 hiboy or chopped coupe (a real one) is a very good looking car but it ain't the goddamn holy grail. ...is the post I replied to. I don't really give a flying fuck what you like or don't like. Your viewpoint means shit to me. If you don't like them then just tune 'em out. ...and part of my reply was to other points made by other HAMBers ya dick. Just so we're clear... What car do you park in your garage? Is it the '52 Chev pick-up or the VW's that have your vision cut so short?. Here's a little tip to make your life a little easier, too. Most steel cars have rain gutters... most glass ones don't. This rule is not 100% but it might help you know which ones not to be sick of... or not like... or be fed up to here with... or thumb your nose at... Whatever.... JOE
JYDog...watch pickin on the Chevy pick ups!! I'd sell my 32 before I would even think of sellin my pick up. Skip....if you had a 3 window I would be on your doorstep with the 32 beggin you to trade. Clark
