Dutch, Those Hot Rod books have served me well! My latest aquisition is one called "Kustom Graphics" "Hot Rods, Burlesque, and Rock 'n' Roll" Cool Book!

Folks, I'm sure that if you shot BustedLifter a PM you could order a brush holder too… I have never been disapointed with his work.

  2. See boys it ain't braggin' if it's the truth...Von Franco just threw down some killer stuff and not a pony or chicken in sight...right on VF

    10 Minute Sketches
All of these were done, individually,
in about 5 to 10 minutes.
The one on top took about 15.

    NICE SHOW EVERYONE!!!

By the way... 40Pickup has picked the right team!

  4. Ben Graham first aussie rules man to punt superbowl- wack'o..

Here comes aussie rules A.F.L. season '09- Port Adelaide Football Club- let's rock it..

Lowcab-Don't sweat it too much - I got a Falcon with a coupla shifty bolts up front- so from here that wheel looks pretty good !
The 3W looks a lot like the Kid & D. Simard's- just fine. Dig the way the underpaint & the chromatics get the subject through. May I ask What size & medium ?

Not sweating it. The drawing went really quickly so it was what I expected. It is knowing what is wrong with a drawing that is important. Sometimes I work a good day on just getting the sketch semi-right. Even then sometimes I go ooops when it is done.

The 34 painting is 18"X24" Acrylic. For the underpainting I just let paint run all over that thing.

I really like the one with the surfboards.

Damn guys! You all make me feel bad. Every week I say I'm going to do something, yet every week time gets away from me. Working a square job has seriously cut into my illustration time. Great work from everyone!!!! Franco, those Speed Shop designs are just plain bad ass! I gotta get off my ass and get some art work done. I've been doing consignment stuff, but it's not HAMB material, so I won't bug you guys with it. keep up the great work.

  11. Thank You Von Franco!Although I agree that art is art,it's only been a short time, since our esteemed art editor, had to get after a bunch of people on here about O/T art,and earlier and earlier starts to the show. A lot of "newer members" get on board, because they like this fine place, then don't adhere to the standards, that make the forum so great. We have had some incredible threads on this board, that have been ruined by newcomers, that don't respect what they have joined,or the people that have created it.:(

The fact that the chuck key is in the chuck in the first picture. He is mearly pointing out that the key is in and should never be left in, even for a picture.

    More Wacom Practice
I thought that I would sneak one more in before the show closes.
I did this this afternoon. I'm getting the feel of the Wacom
a little better. Always wanted to do a version of Littleman's coupe!

  14. Cool one GaryC. It has a nice impressionistic look with great a moody feel.
I may try one like this but,... do I have to draw a back ground?

Tell you what... if you don't want to do a background, I'll do one for you. I love doing backgrounds. I think they add so much to the feel and expression of what you are trying to accomplish.

  17. Just come off the graveyard. Gary, Lowcab- those sketches are lowdown & cool. Nailheads- unforgettable 401 open exhaust Electra Saturday afternoons. What a sound- like the world caving in..
Did this last night- 'bout 30 min. I like it despite runnin' out of paper- doh !

Are we the last guys at the party?
Don't let me open & close the show !

We seem to be having a little difficulty understanding what type of subject matter the HAMB'S Friday art show is all about.
Hotrod/Custom/culture type of work...... automotive and motorcycle subject matter,Which includes pin ups, wonderful striping and lettering... outstanding photographs and things made(sculpture and so on.......)

You guys know..... lets stick to the plan.
and get ready for next week.

    Great stuff.

  20. Thanks Gigantor- I love the Edward Hopper landscape paintings of the forties that were done on the Maine coast. Love to visit there one day.
