question regarding 51 buick rims

    i currently have the stock 15x6 buick rims on my 51. im trying to get some 15x5 for it. will any make of wheel out there solve my prob.perhaps the early 50s chevy?this is not a wanted add just a question,if you do happend to want to get rid of some please pm me. other wise only post answers to my questions

  2. Hey Jes, your stock Buick rims have a 5" bolt circle. Early 50's Chevy is a 4-3/4" bolt circle. You measure wheel width inside the bead, not outside edge to outside edge. Hope that is helpful.

    Your other problem is that the buick uses an index pin because the wheels go on with bolts. Wheels which are designed to go on wheel studs don't have the wheels drilled for the index pin or pins. Finally, why would you want a narrower wheel? Tires will go on a wider wheel and not be affected much unless you are trying to mount a very small tire size. The easiest thing to consider is to find a wheel company who would take your wheel centers and mount a rim of your choice on them.....
