Gas Tanks and Gauges

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 57chevywagonman, Feb 1, 2009.

  1. I have decided to use an air compressor tank as a gas tank on my T rod. My tank is 14" outside diamiter and holds 20 gal. I am considering a Stewart Warner Wings 6 gauge kit. I will need to add a fuel gauge sending unit to the tank. Does the kit come with one? Does SW sell these? Where have you guys got yours from?

    Thanks

The gauge set should include the fuel, temp, and oil senders. The shop I work at has been using cylinder style fuel senders lately from Isspro. They are more expensive but they don't fluctuate with fuel slosh like conventional float style senders do. Also, your SW fuel gauge should be a 240-33 ohm, so if you do need a sender be sure to get it matched to the gauge.
