I am curious as to how 49-54 chevy cars look with rear window venetian blinds.... any one got any pics? Thanks, Nick
Not a Chevy. I found it in Google images. I do remember seeing them in cars back in the day. They always seemed weird, but I guess it was all you could do before window tinting came out.
never saw the blinds but as a kid I had an uncle with a 56 Buick that had window screens to keep the bugs out!
You use to not be able to give these away years ago, we had a bunch of NOS chevrolet ones. When e-bay came along , as a fluke I put one on for a 48 Chev never expecting more than the 9.99 I started it off at. Went up real fast . It got to 300.00 and a guy e-mails us and wants to buy it for 350.00 . We couldn't believe what was happening, so we took the offer. Soon as we did, another e-mail comes wanting us to take 500.00 for it and screw the other guy. We took the 350.00 offer because I am honest. Then we proceeded to kick our own behinds because we threw away at least 10 of those things! The lowrider guys really love them.
I have seen them on customs. I know....it's more of a lowrider thing, or a surf wagon thing...I just kinda dig em.
here is one for sale. it's not mine http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330471&highlight=49
I know it was hard to get a date if you had blinds in your car when I was a kid, well except with the real loose chicks. If you do blinds you'll definately need happy feet in the quarter gl***.
Yep, rear window blinds were popular in the 50/60s. Don't forget your embossed plastic seat covers, too. Gary
