I'm swaping out my 1966 327 for a 1982 350. I want to get rid of all the emmisions stuff. Can I bolt on my intake/carb from the 327? Can I keep the 350 valve cover and add oil through either the 327 spoout or the stock valvwcover opening? (or should I get new valve covers?)
yes, ya sure can, but bout the valve covers, the only way you could put oil thru their openings is if you changed out the intake manifold all together from the old stock one like yours with the filler tube to lets say an aluminum one then you would need valve covers with breathers, hope this helps.
i picked up a used edelbrock performer intake for my 327, used edelbrock valve covers with breathers on both sides and im pretty sure it all would work just the same on a 35o
yes u can good luck buddy, your 327 valve covers would be cool on ur 350 if u use the 327 intake so you can add oil into the filler tube on the intake. as far as the 82 model 350 valve covers they have a oil fill hole on them. So yes u can use 350 valve covers and the 327 intake and add oil into either the intake or the valve cover. have fun buddy
Actually, you can't use the valve covers with no vents (like the 327's had) on a 350....even if you have a vent on the oil filler cap on the early manifold. The 327's had a vent at the rear of the block that 350's don't have. You won't have proper crank case ventilation if you ONLY have the vent on the oil filler tube on the manifold.
dude, i would run the no holes valve covers and keep the oil fill in the intake. search for pcv valve on here and see how some guys do it in the back of the intake. i think it looks much cleaner.
